I recently had the pleasure of dining here and overall, it was a decent experience. The starters, specifically the Samosa, were truly excellent and I dare say even better than most Indian restaurants back home in India. I was impressed by their flavor and authenticity.
Moving on to the main course, the prices were reasonable and the food was quite good. However, I was a little disappointed with the lack of basmati or long grain rice in the Biryani. Additionally, the Biryani itself was excessively oily, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. On the bright side, the chicken curry was perfectly cooked and had a delightful taste.
One thing this restaurant does exceptionally well is their authentic Indian home-style roti bread. It had a wonderful texture and flavor, which added to the overall dining experience. However, I did notice that there was no complimentary onion and green chili served with the meal, which is typically expected in Indian restaurants.
The Mango Lassi served here was perfect. It was refreshing and had just the right balance of sweetness and tanginess. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now, onto the service. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the server's attitude. Throughout my meal, I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but it impacted my overall experience. I hope that the management takes note of this and strives to improve their customer service in the future.
In terms of ratings, I would give the food a solid 4 out of 5. The starters and chicken curry were outstanding, but the oily Biryani and lack of basmati rice were letdowns. The ambience of the restaurant was pleasant, earning it a 4 out of 5 as well. However, the service only merits a 1.5 out of 5 due to the unwelcoming attitude of the server. Lastly, the pricing was reasonable, so I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5. Overall, I would give this Indian restaurant a 3 out of 5, with hopes that the customer service improves in the future. I would definitely give it...
Read moreThe food was tasty but very spicy. After delivering the food to my table the server completely disappeared and I couldn't order additional items or drinks.
I walked in and was the only person in the restaurant. After being seated I placed an order. I had ordered a iced chai and it was brought to me before my meal of fish marsala in a single piece of naan.
As I waited I had drank most of my drink. After about the first or second bite I was in need of more drink - desperately. I turned around to find the server maybe 12 different times but couldn't find her. She was in the back so I basically had to finish my meal with only nothing to drink.
For a number of meals this would be fine but Indian restaurant food tends to be extremely spicy so of course I'm going to need another drink. But I couldn't order one.
It wasn't till I got up and walked to the area to pay that she were returned.
I was hoping to say the food was good and I would be returning during my lengthy stay in Chiang Mai. This will be someplace I am unfortunately...
Read moreOne of the places in Chiang Mai that never disappoints. The food and prices are good, the seating is simple and clean and it's not loud. Have been there quite a few times and have tried most of the items on the menu but would especially recommend Dal, Chapattis, Fish Curry, Poori and Chhole (Chickpeas) and some of the vegetable dishes. The food is light and does not feel too heavy unless you overeat. I personally do not like milky Chai so for me their Chai is a no no. When ordering Chapattis, order a higher number than you expect to eat as it takes them a while to prepare fresh Chapattis. Waiting for Chapattis is never pleasurable and fruitful. A few Indian items like Tea Leaves, Dals, Spices, Pickle etc are also available to buy in case you want to stock a few things at home not readily available in the market. All in all a good...
