Note: I am speaking entirely from personal expierience and I do not have any intent to cause damages whatsoever to the resteraunt.
The service here and the vibe here is all targeted towards the western customers. Priority in service is given straight to English speaking customers. The food is good however the service has been greatly terrible as of late. It used to be good before but after my. 3 rd visit to the resteraunt I was very disappointed. Especially with the new server she has a figure bit larger on the scale. And she’s got an attitude especially to customers specifically thai customers. Her use of language and tone of her voice is not friendly and aggresive especially towards thai customers. As an Asian when I arrived at the resteraunt no care was given I had to personally sit and get the menu all by myself which is not the issue. I am fluent bilingual and I came into the resteraunt and spoke thai. I felt as if no one cared even though I was the only customer in the resteraunt. After asking to order the waitress yelled back in an aggressive voice saying “wait” remember this has been translated from Thai. Which we were ok with at the start we accepted it. After that we ordered and I just felt that we were not welcomed when asking about water they just pointed at the glass saying “u can grab it by yourself” which yes kinda felt not as nice but it was still acceptable. However after a couple of western English speaking customers came in. Oh my all the service was given the people behind the counters came out to give the customers menus and everything. That was the last straw so we canceled everything and walked out.
Note: The food is great this is not a comment on the food but more of my personal expierience with the resteraunt. I’m sure the shop owners are very nice and kind people but I feel something should be said about the recent state. I’ll probably not return anymore because of this recent expierience because as a shop that preaches culture and equality and organic it’s. I feel that there is an inequality in how they treat different races and customers especially towards Thais and Asians. It is definitely not aligned with what they preach as their resteraunt. Not at all..
Please do try the resteraunt tho I’m sure the likelihood of someone going through what I have is low and I’m sure they...
Read moreI’m sorry, but this is my first time leaving a review—and it’s a negative one.But I tried not to leave a low rating as I understand how tough it can be for a small business.
I have been living in Chiang Mai for seven years, and 99.99% of the restaurants and establishments I’ve visited have been extremely friendly and welcoming. However, yesterday, when I brought a friend who just arrived from another country to dine at your restaurant, she had a very unpleasant experience. A female staff member rudely abd loudly interrupted her twice in front of everyone even incl. other customers- when she was simply asking a question in a polite and gentle manner. I was absolutely shocked because I had chosen this restaurant hoping to give my friend a delightful and memorable dining experience.
While sitting in the restaurant, I checked Google reviews and found that this wasn’t the first time such an incident had happened. Some reviews even mentioned that Asian customers are treated differently. If that’s the case, it’s truly disappointing—especially since the staff member herself is clearly Asian.
To be fair, the food was delicious, and I give it full marks. However, when it comes to service, I sincerely hope you can make guests feel more welcome and show a friendlier attitude. Tourists spend money in Chiang Mai not only to enjoy good food but also to support businesses and contribute to staff salaries—they are not here to be mistreated. I hope your restaurant takes this issue seriously so that every guest can have a pleasant...
Read moreA very unassuming restaurant easily missed as it is located in the back of what appears to be a private driveway but worth a visit. I started my culinary exploration with the Tomato Caprese salad (฿80) served with Halumi cheese instead of the traditional mozzarella. The cheese was toasted which made the dish absolutely delicious. My main course was the Pasta Sausage Sun-dried Chili (฿120). Of course it is made with fresh pasta (if you are downstairs it is made in front of you) which is really, really good. It is, however, very spicy so beware if you cannot handle spicy food. I could have eaten another plate! I finished with A Shortbread Cookie (฿15) and a Double Chocolate Brownie (฿35). Both are prepared with homemade butter. The brownie uses duck egg instead of the usual chicken egg. Both were tasty but rather small. My conclusion is that this small restaurant has a cool vibe as you can sit right in the kitchen watching your food being prepared to order. The service is good and friendly although a bit clumsy at times. The food I thought was very good. I have added Barefoot Café to my regular...
