I like the beach here. It is so amazing, the sand in every location varies in texture. You can take early swim here. Also, you can swim and enjoy stars at night. The sunset is also amazing. It is highly recommended for group of friends or for someone you wanted to be alone and just enjoy the self. Moreover, what makes me more happy in this place is that you can bring youre food and eat in the beach. The food is quiet affordable. Street food is also awesome and must try. On the otherhand, many tourist or even locals left their trashes on the beach. There were times the area was so populated and you cant even find your place,so better be early or be on night. I also discovered, while walking, the waste of commercial/industrial building was sent to the beaches. I saw a backhoe on the beach making excavation just to make passageway for wastewater. The water is so dark and stinky that's make an eyecatchy for the tourist. When I saw it,I got goosebumps and felt like 'im not gonna swim again'. I think its in Karon which is quite near to Kata. It is quite alarming that the tourist may got sick whenever they have drunk the water. I hope the tourists and the locals should hand on hand respect and clean the beaches in a proper manner. Environment is a gift, lets take care of it, for future generation to...

Phuket is particularly famous among westerners for its beautiful and magnificent beaches, it's considered a haven for holiday makers. Having said this, there's a particular beach front found not too far away from some popular ones favoured by foreigners, this probably is ideal for Asians who are rather shy especially showing off their bodies. This place is known locally as Kata beach.
The majestically clear blue water, white sand and blue skies in particular are ideal for Asians since it's not being thronged by westerners. You can have a good time without having to be seen among large crowds though there's no fancy restaurants or groups of vendors.
We have visited this place on numerous occasions when in Phuket and have a soft spot for the charming beauties it holds.
We enjoyed ourselves on every visits here and this has prompted me to share this magnificent place with others before it becomes another white dominated beach.
Have fun and enjoy the sunshine and it's environment.

Superb location, regrettably marred by tourism and tourist etiquette.
Kata is overrun with tourists that does not:
-Respect the locals' culture (e.g., jumping out without looking; cars tend to have the right of way here). -Employ common sense, such as sharing the pavements or adhering to local traffic practices (occupying the entire pavement instead of forming a single line for two-way traffic, or walking on the wrong side instead of staying to the left side of the road).
The worst offenders are other European tourist, which also carries Eurocentrism behavior.
Possibly because other Asian countries share a relatively similar culture, the etiquette I observed from Asian tourists appears significantly more commendable.
Setting aside tourist etiquette, the beach is saturated with various types of tourists, evident by the almost complete coverage of beach umbrellas (available for rent).
In summary, it's not an ideal place to "relax," not the most picturesque beach I've visited, unquestionably some of the worst tourist etiquette I've encountered, and certainly not a great locale to "experience the local culture."
My experience with Kata unfortunately does not deserve...
