If I could give this place minus 1000 I would. Absolutely disgusted with how they treat people here. They gave my mom an expedited date for an interview because my husband was dying at the hospital. Then we received the date he was already dead. Then my mom came for the interview and was denied an interview based on the fact she does not speak English. She made a long trip from Russia just for an interview. She was trying to get a visa to attend the funerals of her son in law. She was trying to explain the RUSSIAN speaking embassy associate about the situation, but they do not want even to hear her out. How can somebody be so cruel? They gave her a yellow list about Section 214(b). So they not only denied her the interview to attend funerals of the USA citizen because she did not speak English, but gave her a paper there said she was suspected to immigrate in the USA. I was trying to advocate for her, was calling, and writing letters with attachments from the funeral home, but nobody even bothered to respond. She even came to the embassy with the translator and was trying to talk with anybody from the embassy, but was told they could not bother consuls. Consuls who are supposed to serve to America and american people. My husband was a good man and a patriot of his country, but they do not want even to talk with his mother in law about attending his funerals. I still could not believe they did that to her. She was devastated. You think an expedite date for emergency means something, but these people do not care. Unhumane treatment. Shame on you, you soulless bureaucrats.
Also, wanna add personally to russian speaking woman from embassy and young woman who unswered the phone but refused to provide any help and was annoyed what I am calling about my husband funerals. I wish you in the most devastated moment of your life people would refuse to treat you like a human so you understand what you did to me and my mom.
Do not bother to apply for a visa...
Read moreDisgusted! I flew all the way from Dallas to tend to a visa application that I withdrew 20 years ago. Because of that, I couldn't get anywhere with proceeding with a new one for my wife (Turkish, married in '03). I asked to speak to anyone American but, was told I needed an appointment. I said I couldn't get anyone on the phone or in person to explain my situation. They gave me a number to call that went to an extension INSIDE that building! I called it and their broken English got me no where so we left. Went back the next day and I was more demanding to speak to someone about my situation and they said "no one was there that I could talk to." So my wife started talking Turkish with her and the woman got on the phone and when she got done, she said that my case was now "active" and that someone would contact my wife via email within 5 days. I was going back to Dallas in 4 days. End result is no one contacted my wife. I had to leave without getting to speak to a single person who might have helped. NOT ONE PERSON! My wife went back there after 6 days and another security person told her that our case was NOT open and that I needed to submit a new application. I am a US citizen and I spent over $2000 in travel expenses and took 10 days off from work to travel 6000 miles to get my wife's visa addressed and I wasn't able to do a damn thing! I sent the details to Senator Cruz's office but, they can only help if there is an open application. I am going to end up having to go all the way back to Ankara to get this taken care of and I...
Read moreThe Embassy’s simply does not work based on the broken calendar and inability of everyone to schedule.
They closed calendar entirely for nonimmigrant visa interviews.
I saw hundreds of people on forums who paid their money for application fees and have been waiting for half a year and have not still got a slot for interview. The calendar is non-stop closed! I called, the lady said that the Embassy had closed it on their own!
Really the worst experience. I’ve been to ~40 countries including numerous shengens but never had such horrible UX as here. They could have at least SHOWN A BANNER / NOTICE before taking money from people and not giving information about absence of calendar itself.
it’s 21st century but the feeling is really like it is 19th.
In İstanbul, the first date in schedule is in 13 month (may 2024). And if you want to even schedule it, you’d have to pay again as in the application was chosen a different location (Ankara). 🤯
And that is the process for the residents! 🤯Looks like 100% fraud and an inhumane thing to do. I hope this issue will be brought up somewhere on the upper level and government or aomebody will do something about it.
For instance, Shengen visa global centers never take money for nothing! There’s always a calendar, a...
