While we were in Istanbul. My wife and I were out exploring near The Grand Bazaar when we decided to go into this store with the intention of purchasing some Turkish delight to bring back to Canada. We were immediately approached by a couple of salesman who were friendly and proceeded who showed us all the different types of Turkish delight available and we sampled several pieces which were all amazing. They also tried to sell us some spices which we were not interested in, but we did want the Turkish delight. There were so many varieties of Lokum available and we sampled so many pieces. It was hard to make a final decision on which Turkish Delights would be making the trip home with us. We decided on Pistachio as our number one pick. But we have forgotten what the other 2 are. Oh well, I Guess we will have to eat them without knowing. But I’m sure they will still be awesome!! Make sure to visit a legitimate Turkish Delight store so you are not getting Turkish Delight that was made without the main ingredients which is honey and molasses. If it’s just sugar it’s not Turkish Delight. Be sure to shop wisely. Paul and...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place, more negative ones. This was recommended by the tour guide as a good option to buy turkish delights and souvenirs instead of the grand bazar, supposedly with better quality, price and service. The store is clean and well organized and service is good, it works with fixed price so you don’t need to bargain. However, prices are very high and they only offer big boxes for turkish delights (even the smaller one is big) and the size of the portion is big, so that the final price is high, as it is calculated per kilograms. Quality is not bad, we tried some nice samples and they packed the box properly for airplane travel. Service was efficient, but kind of pushed you to buying without properly thinking. Overall, it’s not a bad option, but very touristic and it’s better to look around and...
Read moreFound this gem during my recent trip to Istanbul. My friends and I sampled baklava and Turkish Delights at a few different places and found this to the best of the lot. Just a tad bit pricier (5-10$), but taste and creativity wise, the best. Owned by a fun guy, definitely a salesman. Generous samples. They sell spices, teas, coffee besides the sweets. I bought two 1.5Kg boxes and they were packed very well. Everything was fresh for 3 weeks or so. Well, we finished everything by then. 😀Right close to Entrance #1 of the Grand Bazaar. I'd highly recommend a visit. I am going to see if they...
