Dehliz Restaurant — Restaurant in Fatih

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The food was overly salty and lacked real flavor. The service was far below expectations it seemed like the staff treated guests differently depending on whether they were tourists or locals. When they realized I spoke Turkish, their attitude completely changed. While the foreigners next to me were immediately served free meze and bread with smiles and attention, I was practically ignored. When I politely asked how long my food would take, the waiter said: “I can’t promise you anything” which was incredibly rude. To make things worse, the cutlery was dirty, and the overall atmosphere felt careless and unwelcoming. We recently dined at Dehliz Restaurant and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is excellent, conveniently situated close to Bazar, making it an easy spot to reach. The downstairs dining area is charming and provides a cozy, intimate atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxing meal.

However, the quality and portion sizes of the food left much to be desired, especially given the price point. I expected a higher standard and more generous servings for what we paid. To add to our disappointment, this was the first restaurant I've encountered that charged a 15% service fee, which felt excessive given the overall experience.

While the ambiance and location are definite highlights, the food and unexpected service fee make it hard to recommend...

We were looking for a place to have a tea (already had lunch). They insisted on us sitting at their restaurant when we pass by. As soon as we ordered only tea they started to show us all other plates and kind of insisted we took food. We only took the tea any way. The guy taking care of us wasn’t happy and almost got mad because we took only tea (when they are the one insisting on siting at their restaurant). Didn’t even finish the tea that we already had the bill and felt that we were not welcome! Very bad experience not representing the city and the friendly Turkish people.
