Ali Baba Fırın Kebap is one of the best places to eat Konya Fırın (oven) Kebap, serving since 70's. Its name comes from the master chief, Ali İyigökler who is 76 y.o., and still serves to his clients with his 3 sons.
At first, you will not be impressed with the outlook of the restaurant. It is on a small street, where you barely park your car or you cannot at all. Once you step in the restaurant the smell of well-cooked lamb meat will surrender you. The best and the most delicious one is the lamb meat but it can be prepared with mutton, based on the season. The lamb is kept in the stone-oven for at least 5 hours. In Konya, there is a saying that "the meat should be cooked within the smoke of neighbor's fire", which means the fire should be very low to keep the meat yummy.
