I love the Distillery. It’s not a chain bar, the location is great, it’s not too big, service is good, it has an outside area. Even though smoking is allowed inside, the ventilation means it doesn’t smell smoky at all. It’s a cool place, nothing else like it on the Boulevard. My only complaint is that it needs to decide what it is. If it wants to be a sports bar, fine. But I don’t really think it is or wants to be. So please, switch off the TV screens unless there’s something really important happening. No one comes here to watch TV with the sound turned off. For the World Cup Final, fine. For a Sunday evening or a lovely Friday evening or something lively in between- no one wants to be distracted by TV screens showing football matches.
