Oriental Express — Local services in City of Edinburgh

I made an order today for 2 people. It never arrived. The UberEats app indicated a delivery between 20:00-20:20. I called the restaurant at 20:30 to ask for an update. They apologised and said it'll be with us in 10 mins. I called again at 20:50. They said it'll be with us any minute now and that the driver is just around the corner. I called again at 21:15 asking for a refund and they said they can't give me a refund, they need to speak to their drivers first as it's impossible that I haven't received the order yet. I said to them that regardless of what the drivers say, I want a refund immediately as I haven't received anything. The individual I spoke to said that he needs to speak to his boss as he doesn't even know how to issue a refund. I asked him that he does this immediately and he said he'll and call back soon. I received a call at 21:50 by the driver who said he delivered the order to us. I said to him that it must have been delivered to someone else but it's definitely not us. Not to mention that the order was still "heading my way" on the UberEats app with estimated delivery time of 20:20 and it was 21:50 at this point. I insisted that I get a refund and that we're extremely disappointed. The driver said they'll call me back. They haven't done so yet. My usual Chinese takeaways were closed so decided to try somewhere else just to branch out abit. Plenty offered on the menu and many dishes sounded great so ordered for myself and someone else with justeat- came about 1 hour and a half or so later which i thought probably very busy- i kept an open mind, everyone and everywhere is different etc i got myself deep fried shredded beef with honey chilli sauce...if it was to go on presentation alone it would've failed miserably,i kid you not, the sauce barely covered the bottom of the tub,about 2 tablespoons and it was like coloured water- with some sliced onions perched on the top that i could tell right away they're not fresh as in been in something that preserves onions, saying all that i did eat some,but it wasn't the best unfortunately. We shared some chicken chow mein which was much better just very salty but still kept an open mind! Prawn crackers defo no.I wont say anymore but i was going to phone back to return,maybe i should have. The only positive thing was that the food was still warm enough to eat when it arrived and its not even a mile away. My family and I ordered from you on Friday night - I frequently order from here (my fave takeout in Edinburgh!) but my brother who was visiting has a severe Peanut allergy, so finding somewhere that can accommodate our dietary requirements can be tricky! We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to your team, who phoned us up to advise we might be safer to order elsewhere. However, we had another call about five minutes later where a team member told us they had checked with the kitchen team about each item we'd ordered, and that they were able to make our dishes using alternative oils and without any risk of cross contamination. We were stunned and SO impressed by your commitment to safety and customer service, it really made our night so lovely to be able to have exactly what we wanted instead of needing to choose a different (less delicious!) takeaway. Thanks again to your very kind team - the meal was completely amazing when it came, too! Highly recommend...
