Nice area, clean and tidy. The shops within the market are attractive, well set out and interesting.

The Fig cafe upstairs is clean airy and the staff are very Covid aware. The cafe has changed a bit since Covid, it is larger and the menu is far less comprehensive. I found little I wanted for lunch. However what I did choose was very tasty and nicely presented. Their coffee and cakes are very good and it is a nice meeting place to catch up with family and friends. Well...

Simply bakes by Fi (I’m not sure on the name as I had to go off my bank statement!) but wow! Thought I’d pick up a bit for lunch and whilst the sausage roll (with sage & fennel etc. was excellent) the Cruffin was on another planet! A complete game changer; a beautiful mix of a croissant and a muffin filled to the hilt with vanilla custard and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Just a treat that bought a huge smile to me and deserves a bit of credit! Definitely worth...
