We come here with the kids whenever we are in Truro. It is a hidden gem. Lovely selection of fresh cakes and buns from Simply Bakes - the cinnamon buns are excellent - and wide selection of loose leaf teas. Service is friendly and quick. I think the prices are reasonable (considering what some cafes are now charging for shop bought cakes!). The setting is light and spacious. Highly recommend!

Kind and patient staff, yummy drinks, good range of loose leaf teas, coffee varients, soft drinks and cakes. So lovely and relaxing - would recommend for anyone wanting natural light, comfy chairs and curl with a good drink and a good book

This is the first negative review I've ever written about anywhere, but I feel very strongly about my treatment by the fig cafe manager today. I too am a manager of a hotel and if I'd been as rude as this person, I'd have been fired long ago. My crime was not to read the menu properly and order a goats cheese quiche. Unfortunately I can't eat goats cheese. I apologised, admitted my mistake, and asked the lovely young women if I could change to another quiche. She said yes of course. The food stayed in her hands. After waiting for 5 minutes the manager came up to our table and proceeded to verbally attack me, saying it was clearly written down the ingredients and I should have read the menu correctly. She will be out of pocket, blah, blah blah. She was incredibly aggressive and totally unprofessional. Not once was I rude to this awful woman and I felt embarrassed by the exchange. She made me angry with her attitude. In the end I said not to bring me the food as I just wanted to leave, but my cousin who was with me had received hers and had to finish it. On leaving, the manager tried to charge me for the food I never had and when I refused she had another rant. Definitely in the wrong job. I'm used to negotiating with people, but there was none to be had here. This lunch was a long awaited reunion with my cousin and unfortunately this experience has tainted an...

Disgusting treatment received when trying to access the toilet as a disabled user. Tried to use the downstairs toilet which was locked and had a sign stating staff use only. Then, tried to use the lift which did not work. Then we struggled up the stairs and walked towards the toilet. We were then confronted by an aggressive women who was working there. We explained what had happened and that we were going to use the toilet to which she then refused us use of the toilet, stating we must be customers, to which we replied we were and we had been told to come upstairs by the signs. She then further refused us use of the toilet and said we must sit down at a table? We explained we are planning to do that after using the toilet. She still refused to let us use the toilet unless we sat down and were served first. The treatment we received was disgusting and vile. This is no way to treat a customer let alone anyone. Unfortunately, as a disabled person, who has autism, I then was left very very distressed and I had to leave...

Although we understand that at present times there are certain procedures businesses have set and follow, the lady (the owner) that presented herself on our arrival, (I can’t use the word greeted) was slightly forceful and very off putting regarding these new procedures. Automatically aiming and attempting to spray us with sanitiser even though I explained I’d already used my own due to a certain skin condition, she was quite hostile and not at all welcoming. Again the same slightly aggressive attitude regarding the QR app and temp gun pointed straight in my face without so much as a ‘may I’. Totally unnecessary and won’t be going back. We’ve been many times and found a similar slightly rude attitude, which is a shame as the food is very nicely cooked. Also sense a tense atmosphere from the staff, even before Covid came along. Won't be returning...
