We had a nice dinner at Ask Italian. Even after booking a table, the table given was quite small - and I didn't have any space to move. But the service was lovely. They did serve good food. For starters, we ordered the Arancini - especially the goats cheese and beetroot one was my favourite. We also ordered the 'nduja and cheese dough bites - they were absolutely smashing!! The spicy sauce made them perfect. For mains, we ordered the beef pappardelle and the chicken and pancetta pizza. The pizza was good. But the pasta was exceptional. The cocktail I ordered was ok. We'll definitely go back to try more dishes there.

Perfect for pre theatre dinner, about 2 mins walk from Hall for Cornwall. The decor is thoughtful and interesting, the service was quick and efficient whilst not being overbearing. The menu has everything you'd expect in a good Italian restaurant, although we weren't very adventurous with our carbinara and spag bol....both excellent. There were some nice touches like the complimentary real lemonade shots to start. I also loved the mini dessert plus coffee option, perfect if you just want a little something sweet. Highly recommend.

I rarely give restaurants five stars but the food was so good. I decided to go for the King Prawn tagliatelle which is a pretty generic menu item found at most Italian restaurants. I can honestly say this was the best one I have ever eaten. I finished off with a tiramisu which was so light, I could have eaten another one! Fantastic. Friendly staff, highly recommended.

Bad service, okay food.

I was looking forward to eating out but my server kind of ruined the experience unfortunately because he was very impatient and seemed almost as if he could hardly tolerate me for whatever reason. Later, when I wanted to pay, I couldn’t find him so I asked another server if I could pay and she was lovely.

I ordered the vegan “margarita” pizza (seeing as it had no toppings I would rather have it called “cheese”, or in my case not-cheese, pizza) and it was incredibly bland, the pizza sauce seemed to have no herbs in it, and the pizza was in bad need of salt (I would have asked for some, but I was too scared of my waiter to bother him).

The atmosphere was okay, nice enough decor but you could smell everything from the kitchen and for most of the time I could just smell burning.

I was given the lemonade, which I only found out wasn’t vegan after I had drank it (despite the fact that when the waiter asked me about allergies I had informed him that I didn’t have any but I was vegan, to which he said “vegan is not allergy”). It wasn’t vegan due to something to do with flies apparently, so I wasn’t too bothered but it still would have been nice to have been informed beforehand.

Overall, won’t be going back based on my experience, but I hope others have more pleasant...

Took friends out to dinner. Had lovely food but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter didn’t make eye contact with us at all, didn’t even smile and was brusk in all communication, bordering on rude. We were brought the wrong pizza, but no one checked this with us, and we had to wait a while for drinks (ordered when mains arrived, drinks arrived when we were just finishing our mains). When we replied that we would like desserts, he gave us the one leaflet that was already on the table between 4 of us. Had to ask for table water. Waited ages to order desserts and had to beckon the waiter over to do this. Told no mini desserts left at all (he could have told us this when he gave us the menu), but no options (is it not possible to cut a regular tiramisu up into a mini tiramisu dessert?). Then at 10pm promptly we were told the restaurant was closing now and we needed to pay (the most prompt the waiter had been all evening) and only one person could pay the entire bill. And very specifically how to leave a tip. We enjoyed the food, even the incorrect pizza, but we found the service rude and left a sour taste in our mouths. It was frankly embarrassing given we brought friends here from upcountry who we haven’t seen for a long time. It wasn’t even busy. We will...

Very Cramped, I was basically sat on a table with two other people I didn't know, the tables had been separated but only by half a meter so I couldn't hear my partner talking to me from across the table. The waitress that served us brought us antipasti for a starter, we asked for no tomatoes on the pizza we were having for a main (because we didn't want them at the time). When we had finished our starter the waitress came over to collect our plate and asked "why didn't you eat the salad?" which I thought was incredibly rude and before I could answer she said, "Oh yes, I remember, you don't like tomatoes!". I never told the waitress this, so was annoyed that she made a presumption that we didn't eat the salad because we 'didn't like tomato's' when in actual fact we just didn't want the salad but after this, we felt pressured to finish our main. The Waitress we had really didn't seem interested in me and was more interested in speaking to my partner, she had her back turned to me whilst speaking to him and as a table of two made me feel quite awkward. Over all this experience completely ruined our evening out, worst restaurant...
