I prebooked to ensure we got in. When we arrived, the staff were busy and completely ignored us. I know they were busy so they couldnt serve us, but i also know from working in the industry, you dont just ignore customers. A simple "Hello, i'll be with you in a second" is a lot better than going out of your way to avoid eye contact. We were sat, already a little annoyed from being ignored. The waitress took our drinks order. Came back with the drinks and took our food order. She told us it would be 5 minutes till we could go up as someone was already up there and she would come back when we could go. Another women went up after the people who were already up there and then nothing. No one was there and the cheif had gone. We asked what was going on, as no one had come back to tell us and we had already waited 15 minutes after being told it was a 5 minute wait. The cheif came back and we still didnt hear anything, so we went and asked. We were told we were fine to go up and as we got there, a family that had come after us were also coming over as they had been told they could go. We had clearly been forgotten about and they had told someone else they could go. So we had to be up there with other people and could have gone up without the wait to start with. The food wasnt very hot, the gravy was very watery. The cauliflower cheese was very thin and watery. Most of the veg tasted/felt under cooked. The stuffing could have used a little longer and the roast potatoes were so big that although they were lovely and cripsy on the outside, they were also still hard in the middle. When we went to pay, we were again ignored for a little while. We just wanted to leave...

Came to this pub because me and my other half heard it was a lively atmosphere at night so I had finished my shift at work and thought we would go for a drink and listen to the music which was amazing! However the night went on and a fight broke out my other half( who is a very small figured person) grabbed by the throat by a bouncer which left a massive mark and thrown out of the pub. The bouncer was completely unacceptable and as I went out of the door of the back I have 4 other bouncers run at me!!! Causing me to be hit in the cross fire by one of the bouncers. I confronted the bouncer that had caused me harm to only be told that he doesn't care and carried on swearing and shouting at everyone near him including myself. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable and will be taking this matter further. This pub will be hearing from me very soon to discuss this...

A group of three of us stumbled in late on Sunday afternoon, 13th August 2017. The service at the bar was was quick and polite despite one of our group (me) requiring his pint of Stella to be served in a particular way and in a particular glass. Two very well presented and delicious meals of liver and onions and one of shepherds pie were ordered and devoured. Very tasty. We enjoyed a very relaxing afternoon/evening in the comfortable and relatively secluded patio area. We thank all of your staff for the very helpful and courteous service we experienced. In particular, Kerry and Chelsea. During the past 30 years I have lived and worked in most of the European countries and I can honestly say that the level of service we received yesterday has been one of the best that I have...

The Pub Garden view is amazing, not many venues can boast a view of a Castle and a Cathedral… The meals I’ve tried have always been to a high quality and very tasty indeed. Value for money too! Inside the lighting is a little dull but I guess it’s because in the evening the venue is more dedicated to becoming a theme bar, with a Dance floor. It can get very busy in the evenings due to the influx of people having a night out and listening to live Music. I’ve had many great nights out here. Great memories… Definitely Recommended.

Right by Rochester Cathedral & castle, very close to the high street. We popped in for a light lunch & drink. Inside is not a quaint historic pub, as you may think. more a large functional area for food & drink. That said the light lunch we had, BLT in white bagget & bacon potato skins, were excellent, both came with a decent fresh salad on the plate. Prices were very reasonable & the staff, although busy were friendly & efficient. Would return for the menu & staff, but not for the decor or atmosphere.
