Grateful “Totally Grateful”Grateful “Totally Grateful”
As I wandered into York's vibrant town center, the York Sweet Shop was the first place that caught my eye. Nestled in one of the city's bustling tourist quarters, this charming confectionery gem has been delighting visitors since 1911—and it’s easy to see why. For me stepping through the door felt like stepping back in time. I was instantly greeted by a kaleidoscope of colors, with rows of glass jars brimming with sweets and displays that spark childhood nostalgia. It’s exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional sweet shop. Now, let me talk about the stars of the show: their fudge and peanut brittle. The fudge is legendary—rich, crumbly, smooth, and with every bite it just melted effortlessly in my mouth. Also impressive is the peanut brittle: tasted just waaw, it was perfectly crisp, with just the right balance of sweetness and nutty flavor. But it’s not just about the sweets—it’s about the experience. The shop itself I felt it was a visual delight, every corner packed with charm and history. If you're in York and looking for an authentic taste of Yorkshire’s sweet, you must-visit. It’s more than just a shop—it’s a living piece of York’s history, still spreading joy one sweet treat at a time.

Good old sweet shop that reminds you of vintage British sweet shops. You can find variety of sweets and nut chocolates inside. I specifically liked the peanut bar here, it tasted so good. Must visit if you come to york city tour.

Old fashioned traditional sweet shop in the heart of York. So many varieties of sweets and chocolates with a fantastic selection of flavours. Does get a bit expensive because you need to buy at least 100g per sweet type but it it really worth it and the bag of sweets are lasting me a long time! Service was a little slow because of indecisive children otherwise it was...
