Love their classes but some major issues:
Attitude of staff and trainers - at this branch, don’t know why but the check in staff treat you with disdain (they don’t at other branches) - some strange superiority complex which is weird seeing as we’re the paying customers, not them. Not the cheery attitude you get at Broadgate or at other similar places like Psycle. Some Reshape trainers are overly aggressive (I’ve had one had a go at me for not doing an exercise during the class as had to modify for discomfort - he did then apologise but just bizarre that this was even deemed acceptable way to react; again weird superiority complex). Something is off energetically with this branch and I try to use it as little as possible.
Cleanliness and equipment - hairdryers broken, recycling/refuse bins not labelled, hairballs tucked into corners under vanity units and stinky drains in the showers - a little bit more care needs to be taken to ensure things are working as they should for gym of this calibre.
Shakes - no detailed dietary information displayed for shakes and limited nut choices - waiting for an alternative to peanut butter and cashew butter for months - other branches offer almond butter as that’s more easily digestible and is overall better for you - they still don’t have any. There’s a waitrose right behind the gym / it doesn’t take that long for online orders to...
1Rebel have the BEST trainers and workouts! I've been going for years and haven't found another class on the same level! I bloody love it!! During stricter steps of COVID, I felt it had good distancing measures, but, since 19 Jul they pack the classes out like normal times. You have to share equipment if the class is more than 50% full. I watched a guy dripping and spluttering over the bench that I was going to have to use (without any cleaning). It defeats the point of having meat-flaps between the treadmills if you have to repeatedly touch something covered in someone else's body fluids anyway. It's too soon to be normal capacity, when cases are high and so many young adults haven't had their 2 jabs yet. It's not the level of hygiene that I expect from a gym of this level and price. You should get a notification when the class becomes full and you will have to share equipment, then you should have the option to cancel for free. Sadly, I'll have to avoid some classes and go someplace else until it is...
Read more1Rebel are usually a great gym with excellent customer service. For this reason we reached out to them to arrange for a private class as the start of a hen do. We paid over and above a normal class price for this, to include Prosecco after class and also personal selection of songs. Firstly, the time of the class was not booked in properly which resulted in us having to come significantly earlier than originally agreed. Because of this we were promised extra Prosecco to make up for the inconvenience. However, when the class took place, to our disappointment they totally ignored our song suggestions and forgot the Prosecco. We got nothing of the extra benefit we had paid for and it was an extremely disappointing start to the hen. The customer service after was also...
