I signed up for their 'I woke up this way' class and it was worth far more than I paid. I walked in absolutely clueless about make up and walked out with a routine I can use daily. I look and feel a lot better about my appearance. Class sizes can be up to 10, but I was very fortunate in that I was the only student. Amy, my teacher/instructor, was wonderful. The first thing she did was to ask me what I wanted to get out of the class. Then she picked out the colors and explained why she chose them. All through the class, she did everything with me. She would show me (on herself) and then I would do it. We started with her removing all her make up and showing me how to do that. We then went through the process of applying everything and she showed all the tips and techniques to apply the products properly. Class materials include a notebook and a sketch of a face. The powder make up can be applied directly to the sketch to help remember after returning home. At the end of the course, I was asked if I wanted to purchase anything, but there was no pressure to buy. The products are expensive, but I am finding a month after I took the class, that I use very little each day. The rest of the staff is also great. I didn't purchase everything, but regretted it and went back a few days later to purchase a couple more. Unfortunately, the colors of what I was missing weren't written down anywhere, but they were able to help me find the colors of what I was missing. Chanel London Studio is located in the main part of 5th floor and is not a part of the Harrods salon and spa. It can take a little walking to find it. Directions in the confirmation email would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever in my entire life have I been shooed away. I was on holiday and Iām from LA. I am a young asian American female and a creative director for luxury and lifestyle brands. I was in Alo yoga pants and a plain Nike sweater (not that it should matter) and I couldnāt find the front door to Chanel. When I realized I was standing in front of it, I tried to open it and the door man looked at me through the window and gave me a shoo hand gesture! I was appalled, so I stood there and asked to be let in. He cracked the door open and shooed me away and said there was no room in the store for me. Before I could open my mouth he closed the door. I was literally having the nicest morning and was ready to spend some money and enjoy my day and this terrible man made me feel so small. A door man. If this isnāt the Pretty Woman effect, I donāt know what is. It was the morning of August 17th. Iāve literally shopped all over the world and to be judged so quickly, shame on you Chanel. So gross. I have read other reviews and it seems this store promotes treating customers and specifically asian customers poorlyā¦. So dumb considering Asian tourist usually drop serious cash in luxury stores....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here and asked an assistant if she stocked a certain lipstick Iād seen everywhere on instagram! I explained I couldnāt remember the colour name - except I knew it had ārose ā in the name somewhere. She looked at me as though I had just spoken to her in an alien language. I explained again and she just said ānoā! I then explained it was in a white container! She again just looked at me and said ānoā! She then pointed to the lipsticks. She was unbelievably rude and extremely unprofessional. I did look at the lipsticks and there were several with rose in the name. Iād gone in with the intention of replenishing my makeup(foundation, mascara x2) and buying a new lip shade. I walked out in disbelief and furious. Didnāt get her name but she was wearing a face mask. Had her hair up in a bun and had winged eyeliner. She was in her 20s. I think she needs a lesson in manners and dealing with the public. She was very unprofessional in my opinion. I shall not be returning to this store! Looking forward to...
