The store is beautiful and sales associate were nice, however, security staff made me and my family feel extremely uncomfortable the whole time. One in particular was literally breathing down our necks racing after us wherever we went and when we split up in the store he almost lost his mind because he couldnāt keep track of us all at once. I looked around to see if the people around us were receiving the same treatment but I saw other people walking around in the shoes they tried on with no one watching their every move. My dad was sent upstairs by the sales associate to make his purchase and again this security guard was getting ready to follow him before being stopped by another one to say it was ok. Even my mom and sister who were just sitting down were being stalked. Listen I understand high end stores have certain security measures but donāt blatantly treat me like a thief. We spoke with one of the sales associate about the issue to which he responded I know exactly which security guard it is, thatās how he is. The sales associate did apologize and directed us to head of security. When we spoke to the head of security he said they have been on edge for the past 3 weeks but I can only translate that to them being on edge with anyone black as it seems we were the only ones being followed to that extent. First, I would like to start by saying that when you are going to purchase something at this particular location at New Bond Street the staff is very helpful but if you want to return/exchange something then it is a completely different situation. As my first time traveling to London I didn't know you cannot return a product at a Dior store and certainly they won't make that clear to you prior to purchase. Next day I went to the store and they assigned me to a person who was not in a good mood and had some behavioral issues. Besides not wanting to be doing the exchange he kept laughing with other associates and pointing out at his watch to the security. I don't need anyone babysitting me at the stores but if you don't have anything to add at least be quiet and don't make the situation awkard. After returning to the United States I tried working with the U.S. and UK location to see if I could at least do a subsequent exchange for an item that I love without any pressure or poor assistance (given that we spent around $4,000). However, the stores informed me that their systems from all countries are different and so there was nothing that could be done for us (which is a different practice from other high end luxury brands). I have had the bag just over 2 months and the handle came away due to the pin falling out holding it in. So went to the Bond Street boutique to see if there is anything they can do for me as this was a fault with my bag.
Ira KIRVE dealt with me. I was told first of all it would have to be sent bag to Paris for them to decide what to do. So I explained I have only used the bag 5 times and there should not be a fault with it. So I asked to speak to the manager.
The manager I have to say was lovely and very efficient from start to finish. My bag was replaced.
While I was waiting I was offered a coffee and when it arrived was presented lovely on a tray with Dior china and chocolates on a plate. Simply a delight.
My replacement bag was wrapped in a box with ribbon and placed inside a store bag.
What a delight to shop here and definitely will be returning.
The only downside was on my departure the store Security look me up and down like he was surprised I could afford to buy anything. But on that note FYI Iām the one walking out with a bag that cost me over Ā£2,000 so yes I can afford to shop here. So I suggest donāt judge people. Maybe training is required.
