Embassy of the People's Republic of China — Local services in London

I recently visited the Embassy. The staff at the counter was friendly and fast. But the embassy does need improvements: the waiting time was long compare to the amount of people who were waiting there; No receptionist at the door – well, there was a guy but guess he also works as the only security outside the entrance. So each one who walked in looked completed lost. The ticket machine is partially hidden by the “security gate” so once you pass the security gate you won’t find it unless you look back; The staffs who were walking around behind the counter looked slow & tired. The website is CONFUSING! The information regarding “Visa”, “Passport” aren’t obvious/clear enough, and for sure they are not up-to-date. For example: the instructions for pass port renew was lasted updated in 2015. So many people complaint they never know an appointment was needed to renew the passport until they are at the embassy; And some link on the embassy website will take you to another funny website with video clips that look like movie. The Chinese government needs to take an honest look at itself! They do not realise that they are losing face trying to save face. They want realations with the western world to boost their economy and yet, they refuse to conform to decent, moral standards for all living beings like the modern western world! They abuse, terrorize and torture all animals and are the main country that creates the demand for exotic animal parts and keep the poachers in business. They keep wild animals captive in deplorable conditions and perhaps the most disturbing, is the unimaginable torture and suffering that their heinous dog meat lovers put these animals through for ridiculous, outdated beliefs. If they can afford dogmeat they can afford Viagra imported from the US. They do not realise how many of their own people are very ashamed and embarrassed of their own country, especially the younger generation. Just because they have always been that way is no longer an acceptable excuse. They need to evolve and become civilised before they do irreparable damage to China's...

I am not unpleasant with the App or Face-to-Face Services as most would agree that it goes smoothly and efficiently. However, I do not understand why some services that previously handled online and through postal service now have to return to the old way of renewing children' s travel documents especially when We live far away from London. We had to make two London trips each taking over 6 hours for the round Trip. For one of the Trip i also have to bring the kid with me. This is challenging for us in every aspect -our time, finances and workload ect,, especially since the remote system had previously worked very well for us. Could you kindly help us to understand the reason behind this change? if it is due to security concerns, would it be possible to allow the use of postal service after the documents have been approved and are ready, so at least one of the expensive London trips could be avoided? I would really appreciate if you could pass this message on to the relevant team as there are so many parents like me with these concerns. Best...
