The customer service experience at Canary Wharf was extremely disappointing. Conversely, our experiences at Paddington have been positive, making it particularly disheartening to encounter such a decline in service at this location.
We had reserved the 8:45pm slot, but one member of our party was delayed a few minutes due to a late flight. Despite notifying GoBoat in advance, they refused to adjust our reservation by just 15 minutes. Interestingly, there were two unreserved boats available at 9pm that remained unbooked, even after they confirmed no one else intended to book them. Despite this, they were unwilling to accommodate us.
The person we spoke to on the phone was both unprofessional and rude, showing no concern for our situation and speaking in an indifferent manner. Communicating with him was extremely challenging, and no customer should have to endure such treatment.
They offered us the option to purchase an additional 30 minutes for £40, whereas the standard 60-minute session was priced at £85. This seemed unreasonable; it felt as if they were asking us to buy an additional slot rather than simply adjusting our reservation by 15 minutes, which would have freed up the 8:45pm slot for another customer, especially since we had given them advance notice.
Upon arriving at the location, we observed several unused boats floating around between 9-10pm, with only one other boat in use on the water. Their unwillingness to be flexible and their lack of effort to enhance our experience at no cost to them was deeply disappointing. Their dismissive attitude was not only disheartening but also unprofessional. It seems they prioritize convenience over customer satisfaction. I lodged a complaint via email, but it was disheartening that they couldn't acknowledge the staff's mistakes and learn from...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience at the Canary Wharf GoBoat on the weekend just gone. From start to end, everything was perfect. My partner planned our proposal and the team were so accommodating and helpful.
And a massive special shoutouts to Martin, Ben, Luke, Jack and Atiyah (and another lovely lady who’s name I didn’t get - who was on one of the red boats on standby if people needed help with their boats/moving - she came over so quickly to help us when we couldn’t get our boat going whilst on the water).
Martin, Ben and Luke were fantastic with welcoming us at the front shack and giving us the down low of the route, and then giving us a practise run on the boat before we were off on our own!
Jack and Atiyah were on standby on a separate boat, ready to capture the special moments and taking the most amazing and memorable photos and videos (over 500!!!), which we truly cannot thank them enough for, and brang over the champagne on ice that my parter had ordered, whilst we posed for some more pics.
Once we got off the boat, the whole team were just so lovely - all congratulating us and being so sweet! Atiyah and Jack patiently waited for almost half an hour to ensure the photos and videos they took were all transferred across to us, which again was truly appreciated.
Overall, this was an amazing experience from the beginning to end - the whole team at the Canary Wharf branch were so accommodating and professional, and helped make our special day unforgettable.
Would definitely recommend this experience whether it’s with a partner, friends or family. The self drive on the boat is easy to function and the boat can fit up to 8 people. Can be hired from 1 hour to 3, and can enjoy snacks on board whilst seeing the beautiful views of Canary Wharf....
Read moreNot a nice experience unfortunately. It was terrible weather last week and there was hardly anyone on the boat. I asked to cancel the booking 48hours beforehand but they only offered vouchers which was no good as none of us are from London and it was a group of 14. It was booked for a birthday celebration but as it was raining really badly the boat was soaked and it was just too cold to be on it for more than 20 minutes. They're policy is not friendly at all if you decide to cancel even in the right time frame they wont allow, so be aware! They do not care if it rains only if its severe they will cancel. Some of us came late by 10min to the boats and they were really strict with time telling us they will charge us if we go overboard, bare in mind there was no one after us as they weather was terrible! so they wouldn't lose out on business! Moreover I bought a package of alcoholic beverages and snacks for everyone but one of my friends asked to change an alcoholic beverage for a soft one and they refused even though it be cheaper as she doesn't drink unfortunately. I would expect a boat company to be prepared for the rain and have either a canopy or umbrella in the boat attached already or provide protection for the seat but seats were completely drenched and gave us little umbrellas to hold ourselves. This would have been a nice experience in the summer but you can't predict the weather so they should provide a cancellation/refund option because going on the boat in that condition just makes the whole experience terrible and not a nice memory to share with everyone. You can only enjoy this properly in...
