After an incredible morning spent at The Cube, my wife and I decided to continue the birthday celebrations with lunch at Patty & Bun in Canary Wharf, arriving at around 2:30 PM on 11th July 2025. We’d heard good things about the place, but our experience genuinely surpassed every expectation—it was, without question, one of the best burger meals we've had in London to date.
🍔 The Food – Packed With Flavour and Perfectly Executed Let’s start with the star of the show—the burgers. I opted for one of their signature beef burgers, and from the very first bite, it was clear that this wasn’t your average burger joint. The patty was incredibly juicy, rich in flavour, and cooked to absolute perfection—pink in the centre, but with a beautifully seared crust. The meat itself was clearly top quality, seasoned just right to let the natural flavours shine without being overwhelmed by sauces or toppings.
The brioche bun was soft, lightly toasted, and held everything together without falling apart—something that’s surprisingly rare in many gourmet burger spots. The combination of crisp lettuce, tangy pickles, melted cheese, and smoky mayo came together in a way that was deeply satisfying, yet not overpowering. Every element worked in harmony.
We also ordered a portion of fries, and honestly, they were some of the best we’ve had in a long time—crispy, golden, hot, and perfectly seasoned. Not greasy at all, and the portion size was generous. We paired our meal with a couple of soft drinks, but next time I’ll be trying one of their craft beers or milkshakes, which looked fantastic coming out to other tables.
There’s a real art to making a burger that’s indulgent without being overly messy or overwhelming, and Patty & Bun has absolutely nailed that balance.
Service – Friendly, Quick & Professional Even during what seemed to be a steady lunchtime rush, the staff were attentive, calm, and genuinely friendly. We were greeted warmly upon arrival, given clear explanations of the menu, and had our food brought out in great time. Our server was relaxed and professional—checking in to make sure everything was okay, and handling requests with a smile.
There was no sense of being rushed, and despite how busy it was, the service felt smooth and well-coordinated. The staff seemed to take pride in what they do, and that energy really elevated the whole experience. It’s that genuine hospitality that takes a good meal and makes it truly memorable.
Set in the vibrant hub of Canary Wharf, the restaurant strikes a perfect balance between industrial-cool and casual comfort. The space itself is well-designed with a laid-back, urban aesthetic—bright, welcoming, and with a great buzz. Whether you're stopping by for a quick solo bite, lunch with colleagues, or a weekend treat like we did, it feels like a space designed for everyone.
The background music was lively but not too loud, and the seating arrangement allowed for a bit of privacy without feeling isolated. The cleanliness of the tables and restrooms was also worth mentioning—everything felt fresh and looked well maintained.
Being situated in such a convenient area, it’s the ideal place to relax after shopping, sightseeing, or visiting nearby attractions like The Cube, Crossrail Roof Garden, or the riverwalks.
Final Thoughts – A 10/10 Experience All Round Patty & Bun absolutely delivered on every level—quality food, inviting atmosphere, and impeccable service. It was the perfect way to continue our birthday celebrations, and we left feeling fully satisfied, both in terms of the meal and the overall experience.
It’s rare to find a burger joint that combines culinary skill, comfort, and customer care so seamlessly. If you're in or around Canary Wharf and even remotely craving a good burger, do yourself a favour and stop in at Patty & Bun. I genuinely can’t wait to go back, and I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know.

Read moreI’m sorry to say that I was utterly disappointed with my entire experience here.
My wife and I came in this afternoon and decided to order from the lunch menu.
I ordered the Jose Jose burger to be prepared medium rare, the rosemary salt fries, a side of the roast chicken mayo and a portion of cheese balls.
We took a seat and placed our order but had an unusually extended wait for our food, especially considering that at the time of ordering, there was only one other party in the restaurant, who were already eating.
Every component of my meal had disappointments, so I will review each item separately.
Jose Jose burger I opened the wrapping to a sloppy mess. My first bite introduced me to an overwhelming flavour of pure condiments – I couldn’t taste the patty at all. Looking into the bite I had taken, I could see that the burger was rare, rather than the mid-rare I had requested, but I don’t mind that. In search of the flavour of beef, I tore off a bit of the patty and tried that separately to the rest of the burger but found it to be bland and tasteless.
Rosemary salt fries These were quite crisp and fresh, and the portion size was decent. Unfortunately, in direct contrast to the patty, they were heavily over seasoned and far too salty. What a shame, as these would have been very nice with just a little less salt.
Roast chicken mayo This was delicious. Creamy and full of flavour. The only downside to this was the ridiculously small portion size - £1 uplift for a small paper ramekin that you find at the condiment section at McDonalds. Had this of been a fairly sized serving, I wouldn’t have had anything negative to comment on it.
Cheese balls Disgusting. Utterly foul. They tasted like no cheese I have ever eaten and had the consistency of mashed potatoes. My wife and I tried one each and left the other 3 completely untouched. The panko breadcrumb coating was golden and crispy, but the filling was inedible.
In addition to the disappointing food, the service wasn’t great either. Not terrible, but certainly not worth the automatically added “optional” 12.5% service charge. I informed our server that the balls were horrible and said that she could take them away. She apologised but offered no discount on the item, nor did she remove them from our bill.
The atmosphere was flat and dull, and just didn’t have the same vibe as all the other places in the area.
Ultimately, I wouldn’t return here. There’s just far too much choice in the area and the competition is strong. The complete experience was underwhelming and there was nothing that stood out in a positive light.
There are plenty of other burger restaurants in the area with better food...
Read moreI went to this restaurant during the NYC event at Canary Wharf and it was offering specials to attract customers. The restaurant is located in the new Wood Wharf area which is expanding the dining experience of Canary Wharf. The restaurant is clean and has a school vibe to the decor. There is outdoor seating and a full view of the chefs as they cook.
There were three staff available. Their outfits were similar to the locals and their appearance was inconsistent from tidy to poorly dressed. There was clearly poor communication amongst the staff and with the kitchen. They seemed unprepared to handle the influx of additional visitors to the restaurant. When taking our order, they did not bring the drinks promptly to us while the food was being prepared. This led to a 40-minute wait for both food and drink. During this time they did not communicate any issues. Other guests left and some who did get apologise for the delays. I decided to ask about the delay as was spoken to in an unprofessional manner as if I was a bothersome child.
Looking across the restaurant, I could the poor service as people got the wrong orders and waited for their food. The manager apologised for the embarrassing service and said he would make our drinks and that the kitchen had lost our ticket. However, we had a further delay for drinks and the kitchen somehow remembered what we ordered without our input.
The classic American burger was fine and the discounted price was reasonable. The fries were very salty. The free cocktail was good. We received a discount for the delay.
The food is served without plates and the tables in some of the areas are unstable.
The big shame about this place is that it provides a simple menu and the food is not complex. Unfortunately, the customer service is very poor, and the ordering, seating and hospitality are not satisfactory. The regular price for food is not worth it and is typical of the overpriced nature of many London restaurants.
It is not an upmarket burger restaurant and it is not a low-cost one either. It aims to be in the middle of the two but fails on all accounts sadly. There is plenty of competition and without a drastic change, it may be left behind like other well-known burger restaurants.
The couple who left the restaurant while we waited patiently said "Good luck with waiting for your order". The wait was not worth it and I hope they improve to stay...
