The northern environs of this station can be confusing because the building in front of the station is a stepped entrance whereas the entrance on the side of the building (on Bridge Street) is step-free. In this location used to be Stratford Market railway station which closed in 1957. On the sloped bridge linking the entrance to the footbridge are glass panels with etchings of tessellated patterns inspired by the local area. On offer at platform level is a view of industrial buildings. The history of this area is a bonus for this station. Platform 1 has a step-free exit, which is useful if the lift is faulty. Small & cozy railway station DLR service to Canary Warf and Woolich Arcenal. Just about 10-15 minutes to business Canary Warf which is amazing for London. There are cafés and shops nearby. The cafe next to it had a good atmosphere and good coffee. It was all good experience. The Station is fine, however, no allowance is made for the 1000s of football fans who need to cross the very busy road outside, to go to the London Stadium. The nearest official crossing is quite a distance away, whereas the fans just want to go the direct route to the stadium, so go straight across this dual carriage way. Shame on T.F.L and other...
