They have bottled sparkling water already on the tables, WHICH you would think is complimentary as you did not request it. So, as STILL water drinkers, we did not read the label and opened the bottle. Unfortunately it was sparkling, and we told the waiter can we get still. He said yes but he will have to charge for the bottle we opened but DID NOT drink. Unfortunately, I felt scammed at this point as all we did was open the bottle unknowingly, and if you are going to leave the bottles on the table, atleast TELL us it is going to be charged and not complimentary. So I thought okay sly movement from the restaurant. But its fine. Moving on to the main course, prices online vs instore (SAME MENU BTW) are completely different. A whole £4 more if you want the Chicken Inferno. Online 10 something, instore 14 something. Fine it’s not a biggie. The waiter is absolutely clueless. The inferno comes with EITHER veg OR potatos. He didn’t ask, but my guess would have been they give both then. I didnt expect both but at least one or the other would have been fine. What we were served was FRIES. So i said is our roast veg or potatos on the way, he said it comes with fries. So at this point, i said no it says veg or roast potatos. The chef overheard and corrected the mistake, but the waiter I will be honest didn’t give us the same service as the group of white people beside us. Yes, I’m brown. The white people got all the trimmings on top with a lovely chirpy smile, we got ‘you will be charged’ and all the huffing and puffing. Sad really, because as an ethnic minority himself, he should have known better. It was VERY clear his intention was to serve the white peoole with an outstanding service as we didn’t deserve his great service. Food overall was ‘ok’. Wouldn’t visit again based on the service. Mac and cheese had no flavour whatsoever. It was so watered down, I felt embarrassed for them. The roast potatos came dry lacking some sauce or even some moisture or butter?? So we instantly regretted sending the fries back. Not sure what they did with the fries, but my guess is keep them warm until someone else orders them. This is 2 portions by the way. Didnt see them put them anywhere hygenic or anything so its either the bin or out somewhere catching flies. The chicken was actually the only reason this place gets 2 stars. The chicken was moist and succulent. Everything you would want in a roast chicken. The skin was nice and crisp. But again, was missing a sauce; like a gravy. Just like the potatos. I think the whole meal would have been tonnes greater if they gave COMPLIMENTARY gravy with their meals. I’m sure they can afford it with scamming people with the water on the tables.

BIG DISSAPOINTMENT! Came here with the wife for lunch, the venue itself is nice, spacious and the seats were comfortable. Was greeted in nicely and sat promptly. And now the signs of disappoint start... 1. The menus were handed to us, they were sticky and covered in food stains. We ordered chicken wings (£6) lamb chops (£9) for starters and main was burger and dirty chips, philly steak snadwich with chips. 2. We asked for diet coke but were given coke zero with no explanation, waiter tried to leave bottles of mineral water but was kindly told to remove it... Age old trick to sell water where it's not wanted. The starters came in a good time, they were placed nicely and plates given for 'sharing'. All other restaurants give plates to eat from without question. The chops were average, slightly over cooked so they had the chewy consistency. There were 3 chops in the portion so £3 a chop! These chops were not gourmet tasted like something you would have made at home with little effort. The wings were nice and flavour was good. It was honey with jalapeno, so a nice sweet taste. Disaster starts with the mains The burger and chips arrived, the chips were like supermarket own brand fries, they tasted like the left over chips from school dinners. The dirty part of it was a bit of fake melted cheese and some garnish. The burger was dwarfed by the bun, the burger looked like a meatball, it was hard and lacked any real flavour.... How did they mess the burger up?? Didn't finish the burger, felt bad that it went to waste but was extremely disappointed. The wife got the philly steak sandwich, her review was as follows..... Meat was over cooked and lacked flavour, the bread that came with it tasted like it was frozen bread toasted before serving. On tasting the steak meat it was bland, the bread was weirdly chewy. 3. The restaurant was extremely smoky, the staff didn't seem to care too much. Their were kids in the restaurant, on asking the waiter they opened a window. 4. Waiter was asked for the bill, it came promptly. The price was what was expected, the waitress gave the machine to pay, after punching the pin in she was given the machine, no receipt got printed, she then asked what I did before realising that her machine paper had ran out. She dropped my card on the table before walking off! We followed out to leave and on request she gave a copy of the receipt. No thank you, no sorry no waiting manners. The restaurant was not full either. First and last visit. Read my other reviews, I don't like slating places, but this restaurant was a disgrace.

What does HS&CO stand for? This was my 3rd visit to HS&CO over the years and was really looking forward to it as we were all craving for some burgers. I think I have now worked out what HS&CO stands for it stands for HORRIBLE SICK & COntagious. As it was National Halal Burger Day so we booked a table for 4 people @ 8.30pm. HS&CO is situated in Stratford, East London opposite Stratford Shopping Centre. Parking here is very bad, after 15 minutes looking for a space and a 10 minute wallk we finally arrived. To my amazement we found the restaurant to be relatively empty with 2 other tables. The place is decorated nicely giving it that premium hipster look. The menu had changed since the last time I had been here and it seemed to have a mish mash of everything.  We ordered a selection of wings for starters, I had the Ghost Pepper Wings which were not at all spicy and not much flavour. For the main course I ordered the Proper Cheeseburger, it was bery improper. First impressions of the burger was not good as it was not presented well and did not look appealing at all. But sometimes looks can be deceiving and food in my opinion is really about the taste. So I took a big bite out of the burger and almost SPAT IT OUT. The reason being it had a weird tangy taste which I thought was the mustard but it was not that. The burger smelt off and disgusting tasted like old meat. The fries that came with the burger were not that good as it had too much salt. We called the waiter and told him the burgers do not taste right and was old meat and me and my friends could not finish the burgers and had just left them on the plate. The waiter just smiled no apologies or even tried to find out how he could remedy the situation. That is what angered me how can these people run a restaurant with no customer service skills it was pure robbery. Overall a very bad experience and I would not recommend anyone to this restaurant.

We booked for a company event. It was a table for 12 people, the restaurant requested a £50 deposit which we paid. We were explained that the deposit wouldn’t be refunded in case of cancellation. The day of the booking we went to the restaurant despite the weather warnings (the day it snowed in London) as we didn’t want to lose the deposit. It was 4 of us as most of our colleagues decided to not come due to the snow alert. We were given a smaller table and the big one which was originally reserved for us went eventually to another group of people which made me happy as I thought “well, at least they could accommodate another group easily “. We had our meal, at the end my colleague enquired about the deposit refund. The person who served us (a man, not sure if he was the manager, he looked like one but can’t be sure) told her she will receive the refund within 1-2 days. Fast forward to 2 days after the meal she had to call the restaurant as she still didn’t receive any refund. On the phone she was told that they actually have a policy where £5 are withheld for each person who did not show up for the reservation, which no one mentioned to us not when we booked the table nor did they told this when we left the restaurant that night and asked for the deposit back. I then proceeded to call myself the restaurant AGAIN asking for the refund of the deposit as it was a proper fraud to keep money this way after we went all the way there despite the snow. I was so upset to see how my colleague who paid honestly this restaurant just to keep the table was treated so unfairly. The manager called us back, he told me I was rude and that as I work in hospitality I should understand how policies work. I can’t believe he didn’t apologise once. I asked him why no one told us at any point of this extra policy and why they didn’t tell us the night we were there before leaving the place. Obviously he didn’t answer the question. If you book a table at this place MAKE SURE you ask about their policies. I don’t won’t other people to get in the same situation as us. It was very unpleasant and...
