The Abbey Tap is a premier destination for sports enthusiasts seeking an exceptional atmosphere to watch live games. This vibrant pub offers a fantastic setting that caters to both sports lovers and discerning patrons.
While The Abbey Tap excels in numerous aspects, it regrettably does not offer a traditional Sunday roast. This omission may disappoint those seeking a quintessential Sunday meal, especially considering the pub's otherwise outstanding reputation.
One of the standout features of The Abbey Tap is its extensive drink and cocktail selection. Whether one desires a classic beer or an innovative cocktail, the pub's diverse assortment caters to all preferences, making it an ideal location to unwind and socialize.
Patrons who prefer to savor their beverages in the fresh air will appreciate the addition of outdoor seating. This feature enhances the overall appeal of the establishment, particularly during favorable weather conditions.
However, it is worth mentioning that some patrons may find the drink prices at The Abbey Tap to be higher compared to similar pubs in the area. While the exceptional ambiance and sports-centric atmosphere are undoubtedly remarkable, it is imperative to consider one's budget when planning a visit.
In terms of staff, while generally satisfactory, there is room for improvement. A more attentive and enthusiastic approach from the staff would elevate the overall experience. Friendly and engaging service can significantly enhance The Abbey Tap's reputation.
To summarize, The Abbey Tap is a must-visit establishment for sports aficionados seeking an exceptional atmosphere to enjoy live games. The impressive drink selection, coupled with the option to relish beverages outdoors, adds to its allure. While the absence of a Sunday roast and higher drink prices may be considered drawbacks by some, the vibrant ambiance compensates for these shortcomings. With some enhancements in the service department, The Abbey Tap has the potential to become an even more outstanding destination for sports lovers and patrons seeking a lively and enjoyable...
Read moreCame here for bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon with me and my partner. Easy enough to reserve online, and upon arrival were greeted by staff and shown to our table. Extremely quiet for a Saturday, was only us 2 and another table of 1 person in the entire pub. We were instructed by staff that our bottomless would begin once we ordered food, and that the food had to be ordered at the bar. I ordered the Caesar burger, and my partner had the meat feast style pizza. As far as pub food goes, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals - portions were good and was surprisingly good quality. The drinks selection was probably the best we’d had at ANY bottomless brunch - cocktails, beers, Guinness amongst others. However, time for the bad part.
In all the bottomless brunches we have been to, never have we had to order ALL of our drinks at the bar throughout the 2 hours, as well as have a load of glasses sit and build up at our table. Considering it was absolutely empty, staff seemed more bothered about chatting and wiping menus rather than attending to customers. We were never updated on the time we had remaining, and when we did ask, the bartender was fairly clueless, and one member of staff even tried to cut us off early even though we knew what time we had arrived! It’s a shame, as this has the potential to be one of the best places for a bottomless brunch. Considering it’s a sit down meal, I expect table service similar to that of Slug and Lettuce etc - which is ALSO a bar, where we have been many times at different venues.
Whether this is just this location is something we can’t comment on, but a shame as we did thoroughly enjoy the drinks and food, just massively let down by the...
Read moreI love to visit this pub for their Friday karaoke nights however yesterday I was appalled by the service. I ordered a pint and a double vodka with coke, and the bartender went to pour the vodka and the absolut was empty, so he reached for the grey goose, which was also empty, and ended up pouring another top shelf vodka. When asking for payment I asked if he was charging me for an expensive vodka as I didn't ask for that one. He said yes, so I said I would like the standard one instead. He said they had ran out, but then realised there was a whole bottle of smirnoff next to him. He then refused to replace my drink and said as he'd poured it I had to pay for it. I said I will pay for the beer but didn't want the vodka anymore as I can't be expected to pay for a top shelf vodka without them asking first. He then told me he wouldn't serve me anymore and was extremely rude. His colleague, whose shift had ended, told him to calm down and apologised for his rudeness and said he'd had a bad shift. I said it wasn't an excuse. After debating for ages he made another drink with a standard vodka for me. I have been here many times and have always gotten along with the staff, however Emanuel was rude and overcharging me for something I didn't ask for. Never have I been to a cheap bar and been served top shelf vodka without them asking first. I also didn't need the lecture about how stressful the job is, as I worked for many years in the service industry and know there I'd never an excuse for that...
