Review: Where do I even begin? Booking our Sri Lankan escapade with Rob at Ultimate Travel was like entrusting our holiday to a wizard - one with a particularly excellent taste in breakfasts and a penchant for adventure!

Our journey kicked off in the bustling streets of Colombo aboard what I can only describe as the Ferrari of the East: the mighty Tuk Tuk. Navigating through traffic with the skill of a seasoned warrior, we felt like celebrities - albeit slightly more windblown and wide-eyed.

Then there were the wild elephants. Oh, the elephants! Picture this: majestic creatures casually dining by the roadside, as Rob nonchalantly explained, "They're just locals here!" Meanwhile, my heart’s doing the samba, and my camera’s clicking away like it's possessed.

Kandy was a sweet revelation, with its vibrant culture and the sacred Temple of the Tooth. Rob, in his infinite wisdom, knew the perfect moment to whisk us away to the tea plantations before the crowds hit. The rolling green hills were a balm to city souls, and let’s not even start on the tea. I’m pretty sure I left a piece of my heart (and acquired a new tea addiction) in those hills.

Afternoon teas? Divine! Each tier of treats was a stairway to heaven, with the scenic backdrop making each bite taste like a slice of paradise. And those egg hoppers for breakfast – how do I go back to cereal now? Rob, you've ruined breakfast forever for me, and I can't thank you enough.

Now, let’s talk about the cherry on top - or should I say, the bottle in the bag? Returning home to find a wine gift from Rob and Ultimate Travel was like receiving a hug from a friend saying, “Welcome back to the mundane.” A classy touch that turned post-holiday blues into a wine and reminisce session.

Do I recommend these travel maestros? If you’re planning an epic travel itinerary, Rob at Ultimate Travel is your go-to wizard. He'll add magic to your journey, unforgettable adventures to your life, and possibly a few inches to your waistline (worth it!).

Just finished the 6 week east coast explorer with Ryan and had the best time. As a first time solo traveller Ryan made me feel really comfortable and his help with food, drink and activity recommendations also played a part in this. Ryan did a good job at rearranging things last minute when bad weather affected multiple days of our tour also to accommodate when complications would arise within the group. I had the best time in Australia but with regards to the tour I think we spent too long in places like surfers and not enough time in Brisbane as if you’re doing multiple added extras you have no time in the city. Also when choosing optional activities there was no time to think about it after being shown what was on offer. Some of the optional activities were also a complete waste of money (cape tribulation), no one on our tour enjoyed the day so am not sure why it’s on offer for over $200. A lot of the activities we’re also more expensive than if you were to book them yourself separately. Also the included ‘walking tours’ weren’t much of a tour. Ultimate had also incorrectly booked extra nights stay post/ prior to the tour for multiple people on the tour.

We’ve just returned from the most fantastic holiday to South Africa, all organised by The Ultimate Travel Company, and we honestly couldn’t be happier!

She really listened to everything we wanted and came up with brilliant suggestions that made our trip even better than we’d imagined. Cassie handled everything for us from flights and transfers to accommodation and excursions and the entire itinerary was perfect, covering everything we hoped to do.

Every detail ran seamlessly, the hotels were wonderful, transfers were on time, and communication throughout was excellent. We especially appreciated how quickly Cassie responded when we needed to make some last-minute changes (our fault!) she sorted everything straight away without any fuss.

The app was another fantastic feature, giving us instant access to all our travel details, some great advice about the country and what to expect, even offering some restaurant recommendations along the way.
