What a disappointment, we booked a table on Saturday as we had seen that it was a full on Saffa bar that were Sharks supporters on top of everything. So we arrived and instantly my husband wanted to order a brandy and coke, but were told they had no klipdrift but some other brandy. Ok fine , then no savannas ( which wasn’t advertised) but considering the Savanna shops stock savanna, you can buy them on Amazon and All the ocean baskets stock Savanna the reason for not having savanna was a bit weak considering I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. So we sit and they come to take our order. Which we wanted to order the bacon, avo and feta pizza which was all over their social media, to be told they don’t have it in stock and on top of it they had no pizza in stock at all as they had been cleaned out during the week. Who ever is in charge of stock needs to get a lesson in what stock to keep in the shop considering it was a freaking Saturday. My husband ordered the bacon, cheese burger which was honestly pathetic, clearly they use frozen burger patties. I then said oh great they have cocktails please can I have a pina colada, to them be told sorry we have no coconut cream for the cocktail. I just don’t understand how you run a business like this and would be embarrassed. I understand it gets packed for the Springbok & Sharks games but I have a feeling people go there to be around other South Africans and it has nothing to do with what this bar offers. Seriously guys an embarrassment to South Africa. Put some effort in for...
Read moreWe came to this pub after the Chelsea vs Barcelona Women’s Champions League semi-final at Stamford Bridge, along with many other fans from the same match. Despite the large crowd clearly there to support women’s football, the pub had three small screens in one area — two of which were showing the same men’s game. When we politely asked if one of those screens could be switched to the second women’s semi-final match, we were told it would be “too much hassle.”
This wasn’t just inconvenient — it sent a clear message that women’s football isn’t seen as equally valuable or worthy of screen time. Even with plenty of space to accommodate both, the choice was made not to bother. It was frustrating, dismissive and frankly disappointing.
We won’t be returning — and we’ll make sure others in the women’s football community hear about how we...
Read moreWOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Great pub to watch sport and have a delicious feed with easy going service.
During my visit I watched Newcastle vs Liverpool and Australia vs France. The ratio of the seats / view of the tv was perfect. No one in my line of sight so it felt just like the comfort of my own home.
Food and drinks is to die for. I had the wings and some hot chips. I really appreciated how the food was served on warm plate. So the food never got cold and tasted amazing.
Selection of the beers is great for anyone into craft beer. From memory there was about 16 different craft beers on tap. I will also mention, the bar staff were very friendly and they let me taste few different drinks so I could find the one suited to my liking.
I had a great experience and I look forward to...
