Saw two straw bags that were reduced to £6, decided to go back after work and there was one. Took it to the the tills to pay as you would. The lifeless sales assistant decided to carry out a forensic examination of the item. Peeled off the tickets looking for what? I do not know. She did not give a reason for what she was doing. Walked away with the item, on her return said the item should be £12. I asked how that is so, as there were two earlier on and the ticket clearly shows the reduced price. She said the codes are different the ticket are different She asked if I wanted to speak to her Manager. I nodded. She went to get her mediocre manager, who stormed to the till. No eye contact, no connection to this world. Gave her authoritative explanation that the item is £12. I asked her why the ticket showed a different amount. Her cold response was someone must have put the ticket on. "Who would do that", I asked. "People do", she said. She stormed off just as her came. So much for customer service! A polite assistant at the next till obviously over heard our conversation. She confirmed my story. She explained that she sold the other bag for £6 earlier. I smiled and paid for the other item. Went to my local store on my way home and the item was £6! It obviously had been reduced nationally. Grace church branch is a city store and better customer service is expected. Please, train your staff or employ people who understand what they need to give in their roles. Not the one who feel entitled...

Ah, TK Maxx. The land of “treasures” you didn’t know you needed—until you realize you didn’t need them at all and try to return them. That’s when the real adventure begins.
Let’s talk receipts. You’d think in 2025, a major retailer would have figured out how to make returns simple. But no—TK Maxx insists on printing receipts in hieroglyphics. Just a string of codes, codes, and more codes. Want to match an item to a receipt? Good luck! Unless you’re a store associate with a decoder ring, you’re out of luck—especially if you’ve bought multiple items from the same department at the same price. It’s like playing a game of “Guess That Jumper.”
And don’t even get me started on the receipts themselves. Blink and they fade. Heaven forbid you leave one in your bag for more than a week—it’ll vanish like your hopes of a refund. Then, surprise! TK Maxx will politely (or not) refuse your return because the receipt is now a blank piece of paper. How convenient.
Meanwhile, even Lidl—yes, Lidl—has figured out electronic receipts. Open the app, find your item, return it. Simple. Efficient. 21st century. TK Maxx? Still acting like it’s 1997.
Sure, sometimes the products are great. But not always. And when they’re not, we should be able to return them without jumping through flaming hoops. It’s not about the money—it’s about respect for the customer. Sadly, TK Maxx seems more interested in keeping your cash than keeping...
Read moreI work close to this TKMaxx branch and I’m a regular customer there. Yesterday I was served by one cashier ( unfortunately I didn’t see her name), on the receipt she is on operator number 9533, the transaction was completed at 19.17 on 20/09. It’s not my first time when I was served by her. I worked for over 10 years in retail myself and the service she provides is unacceptable. Yesterday she served me but barely even looked at me as she was very busy chatting with another cashier who served customer too, the conversation was non work related, they had such a good time with each other and I felt completely ignored. No “ hello, thank you, good bye”. Barely any eye contact, engagement or smile. Then she started to fold my clothing, but I can’t call it folding. She just grabbed my items and not bothered to even make any effort to fold it nicely. I politely asked her to give it to me and folded myself on the front of her. It’s not her first time to serve me like this, yesterday it was just last drop of my patience, that’s why I’m leaving this feedback to make sure she could get maybe extra training or development plan. I love TKMaxx and do shopping regularly there, would be great if service could be reviewed. Want to mention security who worked that day, he nicely offered me his help to wear my poncho as it was heavy rain and I was struggle to cover myself. It was very...
