Honest Burgers Bank — Restaurant in London

Quite disappointing. Due to health reasons I need to be on a strict ketogenic diet (no sugar or carbs), and on my last visit when I ordered I not only explained how I wanted the burger (without the bun, chutney and all sauces…just topped with blue cheese and side salad with no dressing) I also showed the picture of how it is as have it many times. Unfortunately the burger came with a bun and relish. Then I explained to Szilard that it was incorrect so he went back and removed the bun but the relish remained. I explained I could not have chutney but as they were so busy and even though Szilard offered to make it again , I didn’t have time to wait another 30 plus mins for the to make it from scratch. So I had to remove as much of the chutney myself. I should have just not eaten it …I know! As even a little remaining chutney caused my glucose levels to elevate and get out of ketosis.

Szilard did apologise when I was in the restaurant but when I emailed in providing the feedback and evidence of how it impacted my sugar / ketone levels…no acknowledgment or response. I appreciate it’s always busy at Bank restaurant and with only two people on the floor for serving people food, seating people and serving as bar men, it certainly isn’t enough hence the mistake even though I make it super clear. People who have health issues like me should have their dietary requests taken seriously!

To add insult to injury, I had gone a month before (where the food was correctly served that time) but wasn’t accidentally charged twice so this occasion was to get the same meal to cover the cost of the double...

I stopped here for dinner tonight and had such a pleasant experience. The woman working behind the bar (I don't know her name - but she had on a black top and jeans and she had dark, long hair I think) greeted every single person/group that walked in. She was so lovely and welcoming and polite. No one had to wait to be greeted. She said hello and explained that they could sit wherever they liked and that there was lots more seating downstairs. I sat down at the bar since I came by myself. She immediately brought me a menu as well as a flyer with the local special and the monthly special on it. A few minutes later she came and took my order. Honestly the service could not have been better. And I've always liked the food at Honest Burger.

There was a pamphlet on the bar about how Honest Burger is moving over to regenerative farming and moving away from industrial farming. I really appreciate this sort of stuff. It's the right change to make (rather than that whole carbon net-zero thing which is a total cop-out in my opinion). I think that reading through that pamphlet definitely made me more likely to choose Honest Burger in the future when I'm looking for somewhere convenient to eat and have multiple options.

A vegetarian/vegan review from me and I highly recommend for burger fans.

Incredible vegan burger if having the 'Plant' burger option on the menu, which includes plant based cheese for an incredibly and suspiciously good meat-like experience which contains the Beyond Meat burger. Great for vegetarians/vegans particular any ex-meat eaters missing burgers, for whom I can't recommend enough this option! This looks to be the first mainstream location selling the beyond Meat burger and it's great to see it alongside giving options for everybody in a group (gluten free buns are also available I believe I saw on the menu)

Expect messy fingers - The menu itself otherwise is burger-joint standard with extras such as onion rings and related, though the burgers themselves are the main draw. A lack of desserts might affect some people deciding places to go.

The standard rosemary chips are great (though quite salty so depends on your tastes!) though onion rings are large predominantly batter.

Highly recommend - very busy for lunches with the business of City workers in the area at the Bank branch, so prepared to queue, though is well worth it (especially for the plant burger). Drinks are available too from the upstairs bar area which can help during...
