I absolutely loved the meal we had from here tonight. I had an egg bhuna side - the egg was cooked to perfection, with the white creamy, not rubbery as can so often be found in this type of dish, and the yolk was bang on. I also had a vegetable korma side, this was lovely, packed with veg, and very tasty. This dish is very sweet, which I like, personally, so maybe avoid this one if that’s not your cup of tea? Finally, I had a Lamb Delight. The meat in this dish was perfect, fell apart in your mouth, and with just a little tiny bit of delicious fat left on the odd piece, so you got that extra -tasty bite, without having too much that it overpowered the meat itself. The spices were lovely in all of the dishes, and my only regret is that I did not order the Pashwari Naan, which we forgot about when placing our order! I used to work in an Indian restaurant years ago, when I lived in Yate, so I’ve had my fair share of curries - a free takeaway for every shift worked! I absolutely loved this meal from Aryana’s kitchen, and plan on ordering again in a week or two for our next takeaway - hopefully remembering the Pashwari next time! The one thing I really want to stress about this place, though, having just finally finished the last of my takeaway, is that all of the ingredients seemed to be freshly cooked, from the lamb, to the veg, to the incredible eggs! I felt I needed to add this, as it feels unusual when eating a takeaway to be blown away by the freshness of the food. Quite often, a meal can just be “Meh” particularly when ordering from Indian or Asian takeaways, and although nice, you can sort of feel and taste that the food has been sat around a while, waiting to be combined in a pan or wok with some new spices or whatever, then popped in a tub and sent out the door. But you get “hit” with the freshness of the cooking from here, you can taste that it’s just been made just for you, especially the eggs (I know I keep banging on about them, but they were just so darn good!!!)...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place a good review as the people seem lovely. But unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing “Indian” takeaways we’ve ever had.
I was craving tandoori chicken, but what we got was a complete letdown. It was definitely not cooked in a tandoor—just bland, tasteless chicken slathered in red food colouring. No proper seasoning, no smoky char, just a sad imitation. The lamb chops were just as bad—tough, poorly seasoned, and again, drowned in food colouring and tossed with onions.
The rice was incredibly bland, offering no flavour or fragrance at all. The naan was far too heavy and just as tasteless. The tikka naan was slightly better but still far from enjoyable.
The only saving grace? The papadam and fries—and if the best part of an Indian meal is the chips, that says everything.
My wife is Indian, and we’ve had our fair share of incredible Indian food. This, however, was not it. A truly disappointing experience. We won’t be ordering again. Please do not be fooled by the positive reviews and ruin your...
Read moreWe were visitors to Plymouth last weekend. A quick look at Google brought us to this takeaway. I rang in the order and received a helpful, very friendly person whom confirmed our choices without rushing. He told me the price of the order and that it would be ready in 20 minutes. Because the chef couldn’t provide my exact request for one of our chosen dishes (I wouldn’t have known), he gave us some extras and was more personable than we’ve experienced in a takeaway for a very long time. The food matched the service. Absolutely perfect, quality and plentiful....
