Do not go to this place if you are a military family or a minor. 16 year old goes to a haunted house with his father and brothers gets sperated in a dark room. A female actor touches him and he gets pulled aside and thrown out. Only people he touched in the 2 dark rooms was his father and his brother. They were guiding him through the dark rooms. Ron made excuses didn't ask for his father then put hands on my husband when we went to find out what the issue was. Excuses were made they didn't know he was a minor because he had his Halloween costume on. But he was asking where his Dad was at the entire time two grown men were talking to him. Two grown men bullied a minor and thought they would get away with it. When I proved the point that Ron just touched my husband for no reason and had no right to he got pissy. Then when my oldest son said someone touched his friend's privates in the dark room (yes he was very rude) he threatened to call the cops on us if we didn't leave. I corrected my son right there on the spot and told him his father and I would handle the situation. This most definitely was not a misunderstanding like volunteers kept saying. I told them I had no problem writing a bad review. To the person who stepped up for a minor in distress being bullied by two grown men Thank you for looking out for my husband and I's son (definitely wasn't a volunteer because he was there with my...
Read moreI grew up visiting Old Abilene Town once a summer with my family. This summer I got to take my boys! Both my sons enjoy history, and my youngest has also gotten into historical props/clothes. So coming to Old Abilene was a memorable experience! Our tour guide was fun to listen to, answered all of our questions, and enjoyed playing the role of sheriff and deputy with my son. My dad has had many years of organ and piano playing so hearing him play the old organ was very special. We came at an off time, but after contacting the business through Facebook we got almost immediate responses in getting a tour guide to help us...
Read moreI visited in the early sunrise hours as part of a run-cation and cross-country trip. Not knowing what to expect as I ran along the roads of Abilene (2 miles south of I-70), I stumbled upon this little gem! It is the perfect little preservation of Old West history. Over a dozen buildings (rail station, hotel, shops, small buildings, a cemetery, etc) from the mid-19th century adorn the old Abilene town area. There are info placards that explain the history, as well as relevance of this location. Theres's also a staffed information center and gift shop. A definite stop on a cross-county journey if you want to...
