I purchased a couch and chair from Reeds Furniture in Agoura on December 2, 2023. The total cost of the couch and chair was $5,066.57.
Unfortunately, upon delivery, I noticed several defects in the furniture that significantly impact its functionality and appearance. Both the couch and chair appeared used, haggard, and exhibited wrinkles that were not present in the store's display model.
I immediately knew the couch and chair were defective and notified the store right away. I wanted to return the couch and chair despite numerous attempts they have refused to accept the return of the couches.
Delivery issues were also encountered initially as the furniture did not fit through the front door, resulting in attempts to deliver brand new couches over the balcony and removing the arms of the brand-new couches.
On Thursday, January 4, the technician Beto and Kian (customer service representative) came out to my home to stuff the couches. Despite one attempt to correct the situation, the wrinkles persisted, and the furniture's condition did not improve. (picture attached)
I have tried to resolve the matter with the seller directly. I requested for Kian (customer service representative) to make arrangements to pick up and return the couch and chair due to its poor quality and craftsmanship as this is absolutely not the purchase that I entered into an agreement with.
After several texts and emails contacting the store, I received a response from the sales representative, Kian, stating that the manufacturer considered the observed "comfort wrinkling" as within their standards and not a defect, thus refusing to acknowledge the product's unsatisfactory condition as a basis for a return. "Comfort wrinkling” should not happen on the day of delivery.
Reeds Furniture misrepresented their products: the couch varies significantly from the advertised product I purchased and arrived as a completely different item from what I ordered. There are photos of the item’s appearance and state after delivery along with documentation of many attempts that I made to rectify the issue with the merchant that were ignored.
Considering these constant unresolved issues and the refusal by the merchant to address them adequately, I have no choice but to go through the Better Business Bureau and file a small claims case. I have a detailed timeline of events and correspondences with 'Reeds Furniture' for reference.
I was very upset to find that it did not work as expected and this is certainly not the quality that I have come to...
Read moreI purchased a bed frame from Reeds and Kevin was the sales person. Hugh mistake! I wish I would've read the Yelp reviews before making my purchase because clearly Kevin has communication/comprehension issues and I wouldn't have purchased anything from him.
He and I had a detailed conversation about color of bed frame, and I specifically told him I wanted the champagne color. When I received the final invoice, I noticed Kevin ordered the wrong color bed frame so I called Kevin to discuss. Kevin was rude and lied stating I told him to order the darker color. When I asked to speak to his manager, he told me I can speak to whoever I want but that won't change the order.
I eventually spoke to Tony. I explained to him that Kevin ordered the wrong bed frame and he said there was nothing he could do. Tony was not willing to correct Kevin's mistake or even discuss the issue.
The delivery was seamless, and the two gentlemen that delivered and set up the bed frame were great.
I have been a long time customer of Reeds, but I will not be making any more purchases from there because of my most recent experience with Reeds sales team.
Shortly after I posted my Yelp review about Reeds, Julian J., the business owner, responded with additional lies. Julian implied the color mistake was my fault by saying, "Hi Erin, I’m sorry you feel like Kevin and Reeds weren’t clear on the color of the bed you purchased. On 7-24-22 you and Kevin looked at the bed you liked. It comes in 2 colors, Champagne and Flannel. At the time of sale you chose to go with the darker, Flannel, color because you felt it would be better stain wise considering your children. We looked at the signed contract, it shows Flannel as the color. Additionally on the day of delivery you asked if the bed could be ordered in the lighter Champagne color and Kevin said unfortunately not because you specifically had chosen the Flannel color. So Kevin did not order your bed incorrectly, it seems that once you got it into your home you changed your mind."
Updated my Yelp review in response to Julian: How ironic that you think the communication was my fault because 1) I do not have kids so Kevin lied to you about me worrying about the color considering my kids, and 2) I spoke to your staff almost a week before delivery, not on the delivery day.
It's obvious Kevin is not the only one at Reeds with communication/comprehension issues. What other lies does Reeds want to...
Read moreRUN AWAY and DON'T EVEN TRY TO ENTER THE STORE FOR ANYTHING.I wish I could not give any star because even one star is way too much for this store and their products and I wish I could give negative star. They are just a big FRAUD. PLEASE READ ALL ONE STAR COMMENTS BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER GOING TO THIS STORE. I wish I had read the comments before I go to this store. This was my first time and last time and will be no first time for whoever I know in my life because I am going to tell my story to anybody I know in my life and any stranger. I ordered a custom made recliner sofa and I chose the fabric from the sample they had in store. After 6 weeks of waiting and being excited, the sofa delivered but with different fabric and nothing like the sample in the store. I was so shocked and I thought they will take care of this issue but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, they don't and they don't want to accept anything and they claim, they can't do anything about the texture of the fabric when it is on the sofa. I picked a plain latte color with very few wavy very light brown lines. My sofa fabric is in lighter color than the sample plus has lots of dark brown dots all over the fabrics which makes the sofa looks so dirty and old. I cried the first night because I could not believe my eyes. I paid $2,000 for a junk. I had to cover my whole sofa with a huge blanket in order not to see it. I wanted this for my Thanksgiving party at my house and everything ruined because of this and I cancelled my party and I even have to cancel my Christmas party because I don't have sofa and I can't have guest at my house because of this ugly sofa. They are not willing to help with anything. They even send their own technician to come to my house to see the sofa and interestingly, the technician agreed with me but they called me today to inform me that the technician did not see any problem. WHAT A BIG LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish, I recorded the technician so I can show them what was his opinion. They play game with you to convince you they did their job, but it is just a game and nothing real. If you don't want to waste your money or energy, don't shop from them. DON'T PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO BE ROBBED BY A FURNITURE COMPANY. Reeds furniture is...
