Reason for visiting: happy hour Date/time of visit: Friday night around 5:00 PM Pacific Parking: in the lot behind the grill or on th street Party size: 3 Environment/ambience: was empty at first but started filling up with as time went on. Mixed crowd, some kids, couples, guys hanging out. TVs in a few places so good place to watch the game. No TVs outside in the patio. They have live music; you need to be outside to hear it. The women bartenders are pretty hot, some of the patrons were too Service: was great. Came around often and really friendly, always smiling. Seems like a fun place to work Food: was good. The wings, dry were good. Ordered an old fashioned and it was good. We ordered the street tacos from the menu but they offered to make us street tacos, the original, real way (not a menu item) and it was pretty good. The baby back ribs were good too, really good portion. Crab cake was a little plain and sauce a little salty. For dessert had the chocolate lava cake and it was pretty good too. Cost: came for happy hour and it was a little more expensive than other places but that was expected since we're...
Read moreHey I’m continuing my negativity tour… sorry! Today is Wednesday the bar is half full at 5PM when I leave at 5:45 one person left and you’ll read why. Bartenders? Yeah they are around when they come back from whatever they’re doing and might say hi! The bar help…. Well they are there and don’t converse unless they seem to know you. 2nd time in two weeks! Lame! That’s ok, wasn’t expecting Cheers or anything.. the Nacho’s with Brisket are not to dream for! Stale and soggy corn chips. They give you two plates because one is super hot like it’s been in the oven? I’m guessing they are pre made early in the morning? As a business owner especially in these difficult times I’m wasting my time letting you know that I’m not coming back for this lack of experience! Not sure you understand what I’m saying but it’s up to the owners to figure it out. I can have more fun hanging at my house in front of my TV and talking to it! Place has always been a fun place with great BBQ in the past! Hope you don’t fall by the waste side like so many...
Read moreI will be guilty of using the all too familiar "diamond in the rough" analogy, but is it is also too appropriate a phrase to describe an unparalleled bar & bbq experience with an arcane parking lot. If you can manage to spot the single-lane alley that leads into the tight backlot, you will shortly after find yourself in an inviting wooden interior hosting an excellent tap selection, inspired cocktails, and friendly staff. If you venture further you may find yourself in the cozy outdoor area, complete with mixed lounge seating and a small stage. But your journey is not yet done, as you make your way through the menu and discover item after item featuring delicious smoked bbq and fresh takes on pub classics. My recommendation is a Downtown Brown fresh from the tap while settling into a playe of pulled pork and slaw, but in truth any number of choices in drink, food, or seating will result in the same experience; this bar and it's crew remain poised... hidden... waiting to leap into action and impress anyone adventurous...
