OfficeMax — Local services in Alameda

I wish I could give you 0 Stars there’s a manager by the name of Paul that works here. I don’t know what it was with him but Sat may 31 2025 I walked into the Alameda store and was standing in line. I was the third person and he was helping one person and one person was waiting in line. He skipped past them and asked me could he help me? I explained to him what I was trying to do which I knew would’ve took more time so I was OK with waiting my turn, but he said go do this. Go do that and go do that and you go over there and do this Mind you when I got in the store it was 630. I just left out the store at 7:20 And I still didn’t get done what I needed to do not one time did he come over and try to help me the employee who was trying to help me didn’t know how but he continuously tried and he went to the manager three times to explain to him that he needed help helping me because he didn’t know and the manager for some reason, just refuse to come and help me even when I asked he just looked right over me I’ve never seen this man before in my life But I will be reporting this to the corporate office. No one deserves to get treated this way and I saw another lady come after me while the employee was helping me that had asked him for help with me and he just looked I went in the store quietly did nothing to deserve the rude behavior he...

While it's a handy place to buy office supplies and the cashiers are friendly and efficient, their printing services are an entirely different matter. Went in two days ago and there was just one employee in the printing services section. She was rude and slow (without any idea of real customer service) to the customer ahead of me. It appeared internet orders took priority over customers in front of her. I went back in this morning hoping she was not there. She was not there, but still just one worker with 5 people waiting to be served. So I drove five minutes away to "Fast Imaging" in Marina Village and got my posters printed in just minutes by the friendly owner. She had an employee helping so they definitely understand customer service. Their prices are significantly better than OfficeMax. I've had them print my Christmas cards in the past and their service and quality of product is...

I went to the Office Depot in Alameda and bought some printer ink. The sales clerk was terrific but the check was declined by a company Office Depot uses called Telecheck. Apparently, because not enough checks were written on the account, it was deemed risky. It has a lot of money in it but Office Depot would rather pay a third party to use formulas that deem a check is risky. There was no checking the balance of the account. It was S-T-UI-P-I-=D.. I ended up using my personal credit card and reimbursing myself from the same trust account.

If Office Depot doesn't want to accept checks, they should say so. This waste of my time having to figure out why the check was denied when the account has plenty of money was definitely irritating. I will not use Office Depot. They have lost...
