I give four stars because I work here and want to be fair. I would give 5 but- as I said I have a bias.
I've been working here for about 4-5 weeks now. Turns out the store has been short staffed more often than not as of recently and yet... Despite that we are usually able to give satisfying service 9 times out of 10!
As an employee of the store they treat me with kindness and patience. It helps me be able to give customers that usual kindness and patience!
This is my first ever job and I knew little about meat but I've already been learning so much. As a student they are flexible with my schedule when they can be and from what I've seen behind the counter and have heard from customers the products are pretty high quality!
I recommend sliced honey ham for sandwiches.
As a customer I know it can be hard to be patient with your food, but the customers that come in are usually understanding and they help me out as well, which is telling of the community atmosphere of the store!
Oh also we sell a variety of strange things.. or things that I would personally deem strange like chicken necks, liver, ox tail, and bones! Some of it is pet food but I've met some who use it in stews and it's got me curious on what recipes I could try with some of these in it.
In terms of service for a customer I will be speaking from an employee standpoint. But we also buy things from the store, so we are customers as well. I feel as if, for the troubles they have with short staffing, The employees at Keller's are still pretty fun people. They find ways to laugh and joke with the customers even when busy and sometimes it gets other customers to talk, making waiting times that could be seen as long much more bearable.
We have people who range from newbies(like me), to experienced, to the most experienced of experienced so obviously the quality of service in some areas will vary but despite being new, we still strive to give the best quality service we can!
I need to try more meat to form an opinion on those but we have really good snacks and drinks too. I will be honest, I had a bad run in with only one food, but they have since fixed the issue and we're not gonna allow it to...
Read morePlaced my order on November 1st. The earliest you could do so. Came into the store the day before Thanksgiving to pick it up. Overheard several people in front of me not receive what they had ordered. The young women behind the counter simply said that what they got in this year is not what they expected. What happened to calling people before pickup so that they can make other plans if needed? You know, basic customer service? Especially at a luxury butcher that charges more than $10 a pound? Ridiculous. Fortunately, for me, I was not entertaining a large family, so they had what I had reserved, except it took a long time. A woman behind the counter took my number and disappeared for over 10 minutes. I asked where she went and was asked who had helped me. I told them that I do not know because she disappeared, and the response I received was that they could not help me. That is unacceptable behavior by staff. I was then provided with something that was not my order and was told with a cocky attitude that I could speak with the manager if I like. I said yes, but then the original woman who took my order suddenly reappeared with it, I took it, but also received a very blatant eye roll. I will not be returning to...
Read moreYou can pay less elsewhere, but you can’t beat the quality, melt-in-your mouth flavor, and freshness of locally sourced meats. Support local farms, not large corporations. We haven’t been to a good, real butcher shop since we left the midwest. After being very happy with a visit to Keller’s Coors location after Christmas, we just got the Ranchhand Sampler. There was miscommunication with the checkout person who took our phone order (we had to prompt him to ask our choices, as he was ready to quickly hang up. Maybe he’s vegan?) and being told it would take 24hours to freeze, so we waited for a call. After a few unanswered calls thru the next day, we drove there. The order was not filled yet. (I work in customer service and understand being stretched thin, and my husband grew up ranching & butchering-we had no issue with that) The butcher was kind and apologetic and filled our order to our liking. We bought a few more steaks and grocery items while there. Thank you, see...
