The service at this place is atrocious. What made the service at this place so bad nor the sashimi. Their credit card machine went down. They told me this and I was like ok. She took the menu, odd however ok. That is the beginning of the bad. Not that their machine goes down, they can't be blamed for that. How they handled me with their machine going down is where the atrocious behaviour begins.
They start practically harassing me, making me feel like they don't want me there. Perhaps I was annoyed by them coming by so frenquently and I had my headphones on. Seemed to be every 20 mins. Finally, the owner asked do I want anything for last call? I said "You're machines down how am I supposed to order more food?" No answer. Then asked "Can I get something to go?" She said no. So why is she asking me if I want anything else for last call if she can't get me food to go? Asked her how would I get my receipt? She said she would text me.
She comes back 10 mins later and is asking about the credit card. Mentioned to her that I spoke to the other lady, the owner and did she speak her? Does the staff talk to each other? She's confused. Told her to talk to other lady about our deal, wait til 9pm to pay perhaps the cc machine will be back up. She said, what? She said she was the owner. I asked "Ok, do you remember what we just spoke about 10 mins ago?" She admitted to the time, and I told I didn't feel welcomed.
Time came, tried cc and nope system still down. Wrote down my cc and gave her my phone number. This place is quiet and relaxed, if it wasn't for the harassment about the my cc and the system being down I'd give this place a better review. However, because the way she responded and made me feel unwelcomed I'll never be back. Sad clown too, they provide generious...
Read moreAfter going to Sakura on a regular basis for years now, we are sad to say that last night was our last "meal" there. Our server Ryan was friendly upon our arrival, but after we placed our order, he did not return until after our meals were brought out by another server. He asked us how everything looked, and then never returned. We had yet to try the food.
Upon trying our 3 signature rolls and entree, it was not the fresh, firm fish that we have been accustomed to having here. The soup was tasteless and vegetables sour.
We sat and waited to get our server's attention, but got tired of waiting. We were quite hungry from our busy work days, and we're ready to nourish ourselves. Disgusting. Save the $100 bucks and go elsewhere. I hate seeing quality go down the drain with the increase in goods, but we would have gladly paid more for quality, good food.
To top it all off, it was brought to the owner's attention and she only offered to replace the one entree. We had wallets out, jackets on, and were ready to go at this point. We told her we were "just ready to go." We declined but she insisted on replacing the meal. I signed and agreed and clearly asked for it "to go." We should have just left money on the table and left because this was the icing on the cake. She brought the replacement out to be eaten there. We specifically said "to go." We had waited there long enough. Poor experience all around and it has left us both with a bad taste in our mouth in more ways than one. A very...
Read moreThis is our current favorite Japanese restaurant. They also have some Korean dishes, and I can recommend the bibimbap if you are looking for a good meal in a bowl. Everything I've had I've enjoyed. My husband loves their pork katsu (tonkatsu), says it's definitely some of the best he's had. I usually get sushi. Last night I had the Sushi dinner & roll. The roll was a lemon roll, quite tasty. It is topped with very thin lemon slices, and yes you can eat them. A word of advice: if you are going to do takeout, you may want to avoid items such as tempura. Tempura, agedashi tofu, and similar items are always best fresh and hot out of the kitchen. I've had their tempura (shrimp & vegetables) as takeout, and it was good, but it's REALLY good if you have it there. And yes, they are open for in-house dining, carefully keeping things at 25% capacity. They are not taking reservations right now (they tell you a 30-minute wait, but it's actually less), and given how busy they were at this level, I expect that Friday and Saturday evenings will be VERY busy when they are able to go to 100% capacity. They are following the guidelines during this time; everyone is masked; they seat you with at least one table between you and other guests, and there is no seating at the sushi bar. All the staff is polite and friendly and make the overall experience quite pleasant....
