Very upsetting experience. Partially because of the wat I handled it. However, the only employee that was ever truly helpful there was a guy in the downstairs returns area. He fixed a few things for me because other sales associates had messed up. However, my last visit...literally...was to exchange perfume I had received as a gift. I was told how helpful and patient the ladies in that department were and I was expecting to experience a similar situation. That is not what I received. Instead, I spent maybe an hour and half trying to exchange something that apparently was "not my department" for 6 or 7 perfume sales associates. Apparently, if you have questions about a different perfume than the brand they stand next to, they can't help you. And the woman who you finally got who can help you snaps at you, tells you it's all sold out, then looks it up, says they can get you a different set by the same brand name, which isnt what you're looking for, and then says sorry that she can't help you and ignores you as you stand across from her, waiting for her to stop talking to the other "sorry, that's not my department" lady. She never even turned around to look back at me. Even when I pretty loudly placed my bags on the counter, walked to get a roller ball perfume and come back to wait....again....to ask her..."are you SURE you're sold out? Because I do believe I see it in the case". No, you still get ignored. And because of the way you got talked to by her initially...like you're the biggest nuisance on the planet, because you dont want to smell like your mother...well, excuse me for breathing, and having no clue that the last thing you want to do is help someone. I wasnt asking about "100 different perfumes that would give you a headache and make you sick when you get off from work". I was asking about 4. Total. And then, after I got home... I looked online...and hey! There it is! Really? I'm not a big store shopper. I like online shopping because if you dont like a product, or have questions, it's a simple, and often cheaper alternative. I know my frustration (and hurt) from my shopping experience here was handled wrong on my part. But you need to either pay your workers more so that they care, or do SOMETHING different so that they enjoy their jobs and aren't miserable. I dont think it's her fault. I think you need to be better, or training needs to be better for and to...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting this Macy’s. I wasn’t very impressed by the service I received in the fragrance department. I approached the two women that were behind the counter in the Men’s cologne section when i arrived. I began to receive help and was directed to two fragrances to smell. After smelling them I told one of them (she was African American with straightened hair and a few curls) that I wanted to try other scents besides those two. She said okay and left to help someone else. I’m okay with smelling scents my myself but all of the perfume testing strips were behind the counter which makes this difficult. The Dior rep gave me some testing strips after noticing no one was helping me anymore so that I could smell other fragrances in this section by myself. At one point I found a fragrance and was ready to check out. Many of the workers walked passed me multiple times and looked at me and offered no help. One person did try to sell me another cologne. I declined and I told her which one I wanted but no one still helped me purchase it. I stood here for a while until I was tired of being ignored and approached someone to let them know that I wanted to purchase my fragrance. That whole process was very frustrating. I’ve never been ignored like that and I wouldn’t have purchased anything on a normal day if I wasn’t trying to get this gift. I understand that it is holiday season but at the very least the woman who was helping me could have left me with some testing strips and acknowledged me once she saw I was standing still in front of a fragrance. I will not be visiting this fragrance department...
Read moreI get that some people need the store to look nicer, but really the most frustrating thing was that I went to the mall for replacing my bras and ready to pay mall prices so that i can find what i need easily. I normally just shop ross or tj maxx. They were on sale which was nice, but shopping some of the racks and underwear section was a nightmare. I gave up on the underwear. Also I don't wear a huge size and I was only able to find a few of the bras I liked in my size, but that was after looking high and low.
Also we were hoping to get some help figuring out our size and wanted to see an employee. We didn't see one until we hunted one down to check us out. If they open at 10 am they should really try to have employees ready to go at 10 am. We saw a bunch going to and from what we think was a break room so obviously didn't want to interrupt them since they were on their phones and clearly not in work mode. I mostly felt like an inconvenience.
The register people were great. We checked out pretty quickly considering the line. They were friendly. I think the guy was a manager.
My mother did complain about the store being too warm. I didn't think it was warm but definitely not the AC that's blasting at most other stores.
I'd still come back, but if I'm digging through stuff to find my size it may be cheaper to do that at Ross. At least their underwear is hung up and...
