Horrendous customer service or should I say lack there of. Walked into this establishment, said hello to the “robot” of an employee and was abruptly told to put my stuff on the counter. I said hi again thinking maybe they didn’t hear me and still was not greeted in return. The employee just stared at me blankly and recited the same command. So I just accepted that this employee had no interest in greeting their customer and put my items on the counter. My items were distributed between 4 bags with roughly 25 items in total, all nicely folded. 4 mins after I received the welcome text, I got the text that all of my stuff was complete. This seemed bizarre because not only was I told it would be 10 mins, but because there were so many items. When I walked back into this establishment, the same robot of an employee recited and sped through the script of “thank you for coming in today, there were a lot of great items...”. Did not look me in the eye once and was so blatantly unfriendly. I agreed to the purchase and was given my cash. I said thank you and told the employee how surprised I was by the quickness of the process due to how many items I had. Naturally, they coldly replied with “yeah well it wasn’t a lot”. So I received the same 4 bags of clothes back (with a couple items missing due to being purchased) that were all still nicely folded. So with only the small window of a 4 min time frame and all of my clothes still being folded, it is extremely hard to believe they were even looked at. It’s evident that this employee just didn’t want to do what they were being paid to do which was work. It doesn’t even bother me that most of my items weren’t purchased. I personally just wanted them out of sight. And I understand that Plato’s uses a database to determine what’s “in” and of value. However, that just furthers my point of my items not being looked at/considered. Since majority of my items are brand new with tags still on them I figured why not give Plato’s a go before giving them away. I have absolutely no expectation of any kind of resolution nor is one necessary. Just want to let the public know what to expect when visiting this establishment. And yes, people can have bad days so it is possible that the embarrassing lack of customer service I received yesterday was just a reflection of said bad day. But if that isn’t the case then...
Read moreWent into the store yesterday with several bags of clothes (close to the time they “stop buying” (7:40)). From outside of the store, I could already tell that the girl with the black/blue hair had an attitude. From the moment we stepped inside the store, she was huffing and puffing, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. She then proceeded to give us a lecture and said “next time if you’re gonna bring this many clothes you should get here earlier”. No one else was selling to the store at this time - we were the only ones. This girl acted as if it was going to take 1 hour to go through what we brought. We timed how long it took her to go through the bags that we brought - approximately 19 minutes. They took a good bit of what we brought for typical Plato procedure: pay 1/5 of what we’re gonna charge for it once it hits the rack. Seemingly, her attitude was different once she went to pay us out. Didn’t get her name because her name tag/lanyard was turned around the whole time we were there. Luckily, one of the other associates, Olivia, was absolutely lovely and kind. If you don’t want to do the work, perhaps find a different type of job. If your buying hours end at 8 and someone comes with clothes (to sell to you, but also to benefit your store/promote jobs and staffing budget), then you should buy until 8, without an issue. If someone comes at 8:01, you can ask them to come in the next day. Don’t post that buying hours end at 8 if you want to end them at 7:30, 7:45, etc. Horribly disappointed in the terrible customer service that was provided (by the girl with the blue/black hair), however, upon reading reviews, it doesn’t seem too far off base for...
Read moreThis location is a joke. I walk in with 3 purses and a backpack. They let me sign up check in and wait just to tell me it's ready. I come back and they say "sorry we can't buy anything because of our current inventory on purses". Two problems with that, One my pouch was small as it is a dust bag for purses, before having me check in, why not look see I have purses and save us both the time or post a list in the store up front by the counter. Because how do you not know up front what items you are not currently willing to buy due to your inventory. Second nothing said about the backpack, it was treated like a purse. If your not buying anything or from certain people or certain items, the staff should be versed and say this when people walk in to save them time. All my items are in excellent condition but yet they have a dirty looking pink Juicy Couture purse on a shelf for sale that they brought from someone.
UPDATE I saw your reply and it makes no sense, why would you need to check in and inspect items that you are not currently purchasing because of too much inventory of that item? That is a wate of a customer's time, when your employees can clearly see the items, they could have just advised me that because of a high inventory you are currently not buying purses. As you stated I can call and ask and you would have told me this, so what is the difference in telling someone if they just walk in...
