At 04113, located in Alvin I was hired January 20th 2025 as a Beauty and Wellness Consultant, fired March 5th 2025. My availability is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 11-7. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays I was off. March 4th I was scheduled to come in at 11Am. I wasnât supposed to come in on the 4th (Tuesday) because it was outside my availability to begin with. Despite that, I made arrangements for my child to be picked up and taken care of so that I could accommodate the schedule my boss (Christina Rivera) set up for me. I left at 10Am, and made it to work around 10:30Am. I waited till it was 10:55Am to walk inside the store to clock in for my shift. When I approached the door there were two papers taped to each of the door stating âstore temporary closed due to power outageâ. I had received no call, email, or txt from my employer notifying me that the store was closed nor did she give me any kind of instruction as to what to do in this kind of situation. There was a customer approaching the doors and I spent about 10-15 minutes explaining what the sign said, during this time I didnât see anyone in the building from outside and proceeded to go home. This was the second time that the store was temporarily closed due to weather issues, the first time was during the freeze (about my first week of employment) and no one reached out to notify me then that the store was closed. With no clear instruction I went home, the following day ( March 5th 2025) I came to work at the same time as the previous day and the store was open. About an hour and a half into my shift I was called into the office, Christina Rivera told me she had warned me about my attendance ( I called in my first time because a family member was passing away, second time was no call no show due to being sick) and due to that they were going to have to let me go and asked me what happened to the day before (March 4th 2025). I explained my situation, and told her no one notified me and that I had indeed showed up to work and in fact it was 30 minutes prior to my scheduled time. She then proceeded to tell me I could of called the store (how am I supposed to do that when there is no power in the store and therefore no way for anyone to pick up?) and then said I could of googled to see if they were open (that would contraindicate what the sign said and google is not always a 100% right when it comes to if the store is really open or closed sometimes) then she said I was supposed to just slide the door open, but again no one told me I was supposed to do that. Finally I just told her what am I even supposed to think when there is two written signs on the door stating the store was temporarily closed due to the power outage? After that, Christina Rivera said she would talk with HR and decide from there if I was going to be terminated. After that I cried a little and spent about 15 minutes trying to get it together before getting called back into the office. This time she had another person come into the office with me ( Alma Giona). Christina Rivera then stated that because the sign said âtemporarily closedâ that it meant that it was opening up later on that day, how am I supposed to assume that is what the sign meant? I have no idea, but I do know that it didnât feel right at all. She has my number, email, she could of reached out to notify me of what was going on and to tell me what to do. Iâve never been in a situation where the employer failed to notify an employee of what to do in this situation. I believe it was wrongful termination based on the miscommunication on Christina Riveras end. I made accommodations for a day I wasnât even supposed to be scheduled for and got there on time. For those interested working at this location, please be very careful about what you say and do. They donât care about you, to them you are just...
Read moreZERO stars if I could!!! This Walgreens has a nice location, and the store personnel in general are helpful, nice for the most part, and most will help you. THE PHARMACY HOWEVER, is a total disaster. I've NEVER in my life seen so many unprofessional idiots in one location, but the pharmacist in charge is the most incompetent individual in the business. They've had a few since our insurance forced us to start using them. Absolutely horrible customer service, and they don't, or can't understand simple prescriptions. We have to use CVS for about half our prescriptions because of their incompetence. Really a shame. Seems the store manager settles for other pharmacies rejected, incompetent castoffs, and hires them. When we take the prescriptions to CVS that the idiots at Walgreens won't fill, they tell us they aren't reading them correctly, and have no problem filling them for us! Really Alvin Walgreens?!! So....no more buying anything other than the must have prescriptions (about 4), the rest I actually pay far less for at CVS. Without insurance. No more Valentine candy, milk, snacks, whatever EVER from Alvin Walgreens. I'll get it elsewhere, just because the "stupid" at Alvin Walgreens pharmacy just keeps getting worse. If the manager can't get the problems we all complain about, ie: 90 pain pills scripts only having 72 or ? in the bottle, incorrect charging from month to month, etc. fixed, that place will suffer worse than it is already. The pharmacy is hurting the store. The manager either doesn't care, or is incapable themselves. I'll use the last of my Walgreens rewards, and send a letter to corporate and the state about the serious issues, along with some video and join the thousands of other customers they've run off. How many more can they run off before corporate cleans house in that craphole? Ugh! I'm done with my...
Read moreWe just buried my uncle yesterday. I was trying to have a canvas printed of my uncle app said it would be ready after 11:55 same day. I showed up at 12:00 hand not even started. When the girl that was helping me went and got the manager, Cecilia, this lady walked up with an attitude asking if we received notification. I told her no the app said it would be ready at 11:55. She repeated herself again, but did you receive notification that was ready and I said as I mentioned no. It just told me to pick it up after 1155 two more times she asked me, but did you receive Notification?? So I finally told her as I said four times no it just said it would be ready at 11:55! Each time she was saying she was getting louder and louder so I asked her for her managerâs number she said you can call the 800 number and I said can you give it to me and she goes itâs on the door with an attitude. And I go argue the manager and she said I am and I was like you said a great example⌠And I said You know what what is your bosses name and she said Christina can I have her number so you can look it up on the door?! And I was walking out. I told her she was very rude, especially for being a manager. I then asked the original girl that was checking out somebody for the store managerâs name and she told me she did not know what it was that she just started and I said so you donât know who hired you and she said no. Wow We have never gotten bad customer service here, but Cecilia by far has been the very rudest unprofessional person Iâve ever dealt with in the Alvin, area!!! If you donât want to come to work and youâre gonna come in because youâre in a bad mood or have a bad day then why the heck did you even come to work and shoot the customers like that? Thereâs a certain way to handle the situation and...
