I am not one to write reviews unless they are positive but I really feel like I must speak up about my/our experience, in hopes that it doesn't happen to anyone else who is renting the space for events. I, and my business partner recently hosted an event in the cave. We booked it well in advance and had our two hour slot secured. The workshop was intensely healing and the cave was stunning, but as we were wrapping up, Dr. Stone came in and abruptly told us it was time to get out. It was exactly one minute after our allotted time. Everyone started to gather their stuff and he came in again at four minutes after and said that was another group was waiting and we had gone over. He then started to forcefully take the yoga mats out of each person's hand and usher them out. I am very respectful of other's time and would never want to infringe on that, but we were told two hours. I am wondering why there is not a 10 or 15 minute buffer between groups, especially when you know that far in advance. We would have had to start packing our stuff up at ten minutes before to be out in time. It really left a sour taste in everyone's mouth and dampened the enlightening experience that had been created in our workshop. The feedback we had was that our guests felt like they were a burden when they came in the building. The reported being harshly reprimanded for opening the door for too long while taking a bathroom break. The overall opinion was that they would not be returning to the building, even though they loved the cave. The energy was definitely changed by the staff interaction. We understand their are bad days but it is a healing center and I would have hoped it would have felt more welcoming and loving from the get go. I pray this gives you an opportunity to maybe do some things differently, especially when people pay the cost of using your space. It is certainly not cheap! It could have been handled so much more gently and perhaps we could have been given a head's up that we had to be out of the space, not just done with our workshop within two hours. There is so much effort and energy that goes into creating an event like this. It was disheartening to have it end so abruptly. We would have just appreciated the energy of the staff being in alignment with the name, "A healing Center."
UPDATE: I wrote this in hopes that we could both grown and learn to do it better in the future. Suzanne from the Centered Stone called me and apologized. She took accountability for not telling me that event holders usually end their events about 15 minutes before to assist people in coming back to ground. I could have done better in asking more questions. She was gracious enough to offer all of our attendees a discount voucher so that they can have a different experience of the cave. I appreciated their willingness to be open to feedback and come to middle ground. It was handled well and honestly, the experience of the salt cave itself was still worth the...
Read moreI came to Centered Stone after a car accident in 2023, based on a personal recommendation from a relative who had known Dr. Stone for most of her life. Because of that connection, I felt confident putting my trust in his care.
Dr. Stone himself is kind, thorough, and clearly knowledgeable. His treatment plans are well-executed, and the automatic massage machines they use are truly amazing — one of my favorite parts of the experience. He also refers patients involved in car accidents to a legal team, scheduling consultations to help navigate the process. While well-intentioned, this part of the experience was a bit overwhelming. You're asked to sign paperwork early on that gives the lawyers full representation and sets a required number of visits for chiropractic care as part of your case. If you've never been in an accident before, this part can feel stressful, confusing, and rushed — especially when you're already dealing with physical pain and emotional stress. Dr. Stone is cautious and avoids giving legal advice, instead referring all questions back to the attorneys.
Unfortunately, my biggest concern was with the management side of the practice — specifically Susan, Dr. Stone’s wife and the office manager. Because we were using PIP (Personal Injury Protection) insurance, we needed a detailed breakdown of services and charges to make sure we didn’t exceed our benefit limits. We made multiple requests over the span of a month for that documentation and had difficulty getting it.
During one phone call, Susan became very unprofessional, raising her voice and arguing with my husband — ultimately hanging up on him. She then called back moments later as if nothing had happened, offering no apology or acknowledgment of her behavior. When we came in person to pick up the paperwork, I calmly addressed the unprofessional nature of that exchange. Rather than apologizing, Susan responded with a bizarre comment: “I’m upset because we cut down our trees.” It was confusing and completely unrelated to the situation. Dr. Stone then silently stood next to her without saying a word or attempting to mediate, which felt like an intimidation tactic rather than a resolution effort.
In short, while the services provided at Centered Stone are high-quality and the location is convenient, the management is very difficult to work with. Susan's unprofessionalism and poor communication created unnecessary stress during an already challenging time. I sincerely hope they improve the patient experience on the administrative side because the clinical care...
Read moreMyself and 2 friends of mine attended a Healing Meditation Sound Bath with Tarek, this was not my first sound bath experience. The woman at the front desk must have a process that she goes through with every customer because she snapped at us any time we asked a question or spoke out of turn, that was the first sign. Secondly, we spent 30 minutes inside the Salt Room listening to the Doctor brag about how much money he spent on the facility and salt cave and attempt to sell himself and his Son and Daughter on their Chiro work. 30 minutes is not an exaggeration, it felt like a time share presentation and was incredibly off-putting considering why we were there. They opened the floor to questions for some awful reason instead of addressing individual questions after the session. They have reclining camping chairs and yoga mats in the Salt Room which struck me as odd, we chose the yoga mats because that's what we prefer but some of the other folks there for the session really wanted the chairs and were even rude about it. What a joke!!! People are incredibly rude, the entire session was filled with the squeaks and shudders of the chairs as people annoyingly got comfortable for far too long, far too many times. The chairs ruined the entire experience for me, I was completely unable to ignore the squeaking and creaking and cracking of the chairs that were louder than the music. Now, Tarek plays beautiful music and the flow between instruments was pretty flawless, what was difficult for me was the fact that I felt like I was being prepared for battle, it was dark and ominous, like a terror looming ahead. I don't know how anybody could enjoy that experience and perhaps it was a one off for me but as a highly anxious person I could not find it enjoyable in the slightest. I finally gave up and decided to spend the last 20 minutes watching him play the Hang Drum which was incredible, he is very talented and the sounds he made with that were pure magic, however, and again, the rude women in the back adjusted their seats for what felt like 5 straight minutes during that time so the sound of the chairs ruined the music once again. This experience was awful, it was a waste of time and money for myself and my guests. There are other studios that offer Sound Baths, I suggest looking...
