I had a bad experience today at the American Fork Home Depot. To level set, I am a very loyal Home Depot customer. I am probably in there every weekend and bring my two-year old daughter often. I renovated my whole basement via Home Depot and spent a small fortune. I went to Lowes once and my daughter said "Dad I like the orange store more." Anyway, I went by this Home Depot last week and they had a Weber grill on sale that I had my eyes on for a long time. I didn't have my truck, and they had a bunch of the grills so I wasn't worried about them selling out. I went by to grab one today in my truck and they only had the model unit that had been sitting outside and was very dirty, so I went in to customer support to see if they had any that were covered/in the box or if they could order me one at that price. The girl at customer service was a tall young girl who had dark hair, a nose stud, and dressed a little goth. She was very rude and said she would have to ask her manager if she could price match. She called her manager and her manager said "no, as this was the last one and that is the only reason it was discounted." This was a lie as there were a bunch discounted to this price when I had gone by earlier in the week. The girl helping me said to go look at the grill again and see if it was just dusty, as they never leave the grills outside in the winter and that they had just taken those grills outside this week. Another lie, as I go to Home Depot weekly, I know that those things sit outside year round (usually covered but still outside). So I went to look again and took a closer look. The BBQ had definitely been outside for a long time: had rust spots all over it, filled with dirt on the inside and even had a scrape on the side (see photos). I took some pictures and showed them to the girl who had been helping me. She called her manager again and told the manager that I was "hunting for a discount" because it was "dirty or something." Not at all what I had said or showed her. All I wanted was for her to price match for a grill that wasn't damaged (she said they had a few in their distribution center). The manager said she would discount if $50 for being dirty, but would not price match on the ones in the distribution center. I wasn't going to spend over $1,000.00 on a damaged BBQ. I was so frustrated with how that girl treated me, by completely ignoring what I was saying and lying to me and her manager that I ended up leaving without the grill. I am really bummed after that experience at one of my favorite stores. Prior to this, I have never had a bad experience at Home Depot. I will definitely be going to a different location from now on.

DO NOT INSTALL WINDOWS FROM HOME DEPOT! WORST EXPIERIENCE EVER!! I would do no Stars but it didn't give me that option. Feb 8 was install day. I paid over 10k for 13 windows to be installed. 1 window had the wrong measurement so im still waiting for that one. The damage that was done is beyond what I ever thought would happen. The caulk around the Windows isn't straight or even put on evenly, there is some on my brick of the outside house and missing some to cover around parts of the window. When they hammered out glass in the main room there was glass flying by my TV, where i was sitting on my couch well over 9 ft away. Shards of glass on my carpet even still im finding bits and pieces left behind not to mention outside. Outside there was huge shards of glass all in the dirt and cement where my dogs go. Still finding small sharp shards. There is holes in my siding not even around the window but beside where they removed and they tried to fill with Caulk to cover it up. Inside there is plaster from my Wall missing all over areas of the house. The pictures don't do it justice. But the best part when Dee Vickery from Oquirrh Mountain Windows showed me the damage in the kitchen area the Manager from home depot was present Dana Garrett (was checking on everything) stood there as Dee said " stuff like this happens and some spackling will be able to fix it. I was a little confused when mentioned " Spackling" Dee Vickery said the best thing to do is just looking it up on "You Tube". Meanwhile the Manager Dana from Home Depot just stood there. My boyfriend was at work at the time of the finished install and i didn't get a walk around all the Windows until the 6 guys were finished. I called my boyfriend who works for a contractor telling him my frustrations and when he came home he was so disgusted with the job that was performed. Im Still waiting on the window that had the wrong measurements and a lady called 3 days ago saying March 11th is the day another company is coming out to fix the issues( which was our request we not have the same company) but does this mean I have to wait with all my furniture still 3ft way from the Windows until March 11th ? I have a surgery coming up and everything pushed 3ft away from the outside and inside. Oh but Dana told my boyfriend that he was going to give us a $ 200 dollar compensation. Are you kidding me? Ok Home Depot, $ 200 dollars that's going to be used to replace one of the large blind that was stepped on and bent during the install. Not to mention all the time spent picking up glass inside and out. That's not even all I want to say but i think i wrote a book by now. Pictures don't do it Justice.

I will never shop anywhere but Home Depot. I Hird some teenagers to go buy some sheetrock and they paid for the right size and the forklift driver brought out the wrong size to load. I got home and notice I had 50 pieces of the wrong size. I went to Home Depot and they sent someone out with the right size sheetrock and they were suppose to pick it up. Well these guys couldn't have been more lazy, instead of doing the work they just said they couldn't do it. So they left and took the sheetrock back and left the first purchase. I was pretty upset at this point, I grabbed every I had bought form home depot in the last 3 months and took it back. Then I wen to the pro desk and they wanted me to take the drywall to the curb. (In the rain) So I told them I would. I get a call while I'm at the door and the Manager Jake came and met me, asked what had happened. Then told me he would personally bring the right drywall and pick up the old drywall. Told me that Home Depot is trying to be number 1 is customer service. About 1 hours later he is hauling the sheetrock into my basement and taking the old sheetrock away. Jake couldn't have done better. I'm super impressed by his worth ethic and attitude toward an upset costumer. I will only buy form home depot from here on out. Home Depot is lucky to have an employee like Jake. If you need anything or have a problem I would work with Jake.

I have had four very poor experiences here recently with the customer service.

  1. I came for a pick up order. I order a workbench. I came to pick up the order and the check in went smoothly. When it came time to get the workbench in the car, they said they'd get someone to help load the workbench into my car. It was slightly larger and heavier than I could manage to get in my car by myself so I really needed help to load. I literally sat for20 minutes just waiting for them to track down some to help me load the workbench. When I asked one of the workers that walked by if he could help he responded that his arm hurt and he couldn't and kept walking. It just seems outrageous to have to wait 20 minutes to perform a task that literally would have taken 30 seconds. I was frustrated, but thought it was just a gimmick night for their customer service. The product has been great, and the original check in was good, but the follow up service was very much lacking.

  2. I came to rent a rotary tiller. I came into the rental area, and no one was there. There was loud sound dinging that I had walked into the rental area so I was assuming someone would be with me shortly. Turned out I waiting for like 10 minutes without anyone coming to help me. I rang the bell a couple more times. I ended up having to go to normal part of the store to ask someone for help. And they were confused why no one was there, so they called over and told me I could head back and someone should be there to help me. I went back... no one showed up for 5 minutes. Until finally some teenage kid finally comes out of the back office where it appears he had been the whole time just chilling back there. Very frustrating how unresponsive they were. He helped me get my rotary tiller rented, but left it to me to load it in the car. Kind of reinforces the negative experience I had previously.

  3. My wife came to the return the rototiller because she was out running some other errands. She came to home depot unaware of where to return the tiller. The rotary tiller was a littler heavy for her, so it was a bit of a struggling getting it out of the car and loaded. She parked near the front and there were two employees walking by.. and she asked for some help with of where to go and some help getting the rotary tiller out of the car into the store. The employee responded with a sarcastic, "I don't know, maybe return it inside..." Then walked off. With my wife unaware of where to go she struggled through unloading the rotary tiller, and aimlessly struggled through the store looking for where to return the tool. she unfortunately went through the wrong door and had to walk quite a bit hauling the heavy rotary tiller to the rental area. When she gets her the older gentlemen working there asks why she didn't come through the small door right there. My wife responded that she had asked for help, but one of the workers blew her off. To put the cherry on top of this miserable customer service experience, when my wife came in to the store the same employee walked by again noticed her struggling moving the rotary tiller and still...
