Tyler at the Ammon store is AWESOME! He has been our go-to guy for gun and bow outfitting. We've had the pleasure of working with him on a few different occasions, most notably to look at and test fire some bows in store. When the time came that we had done our research and picked the bow that best fit, Tyler made sure to help adjust draw length, weight and get us set up for success with an awesome outfit. He was super personable and very friendly, and we felt we had the right man for the job. Every time we go in to the store, we hope to see him and enjoy when he remembers our names/recognizes us. I've enjoyed shopping at Sportsman's over the years, but Tyler has smashed all previous status quos for how an outfitting store can feel and he is a good friend to have.
He's so good that we bragged about him to an old acquaintance who was in town visiting. After hearing about our positive experiences, this old friend of ours decided to try purchasing a bow of his own through Tyler at Sportsman's. He was a beginner archer without much experience, but Tyler handled him well and didn't make him feel small or stupid. As a salesman, Tyler was also totally responsible and instead of pushing to close a sale to an inexperienced shooter, we saw Tyler advise him to consider his options and try various models rather than buying a bow after only a few test rounds and without much research. Tyler did EVERYTHING right and our opinion of him only grew from that experience. Man, he can handle his own with stubborn customers while still being respectful and a gentleman. We couldn't believe how impressed we were with Tyler's ability to make the most out of what could have been an uncomfortable situation for some.
Can't say enough nice things about this guy, and just wanted to submit this form in hopes that he might get recognized for the quality work...
Read moreThey are better than Cabella's and Bass Pro, but only a little. They have a better than decent selection, but their prices on specialty items in particular, are inflated. They seem to handle customers in order of appearance, in other words, you're dressed nicely, you are approached first, you're in a T shirt and shorts, they will sometimes go around you to help the more wealthy looking customers. I have bought probably ten grand worth of stuff over the last eight years from them, but it was usually because I couldn't find the things I wanted anywhere else. Their refund policy does not allow for cash or debit refunds, IF the item's package was damaged in any way. This is a little annoying when you buy a $100.00 item in a bubble wrapped package and it is low quality, or does not work. They only give store credit in those situations. When you have a hundred thousand sports related items in one store, you expect the service to be less than personable, so just take it with a grain of salt. It is what it is, a big box store where you can buy just about anything outdoors or firearm related, but not expect a red carpet or the...
Read moreI stopped in the Ammon ID store to check on a firearm in stock. A stencil on the front door says something to the effectâ If we dont have the best price then weâll beat itâ. I showed an older man with grey hair and glasses of an ad from an online store ( there were multiple in the same price range that I could produce from different stores) for the item that they have in stock. His reply is that Sportsmanâs would only compete with big box stores and wouldnât even look into it. Kinda pissed me off with the attitude. Iâm not the one with the sign on my store stating to all what Iâll do for business. Even if the price wouldâve been a little higher than what I showed him I wouldâve bought the item. Wouldnât even check into it. I went to another store in town and itâs not a normally stocked item but the individual said that heâd check on Monday with their supplier and see if they could match or get close to it.
Update: Sportsmanâs staff contacted me the next day via email and addressed issue stated above. I appreciate the quick response and their commitment to honor what they...
