I got my screen fixed here around April because it was nearby my work, and a coworker suggested it. Sprint couldn’t get me in for a few weeks and this seemed convenient. Little did I know I would be back 4-5 times to have it replaced AGAIN due to “factory defects” (I’m convinced at this point they just use cheap parts... how did you manage to put 5 defective screens in my phone?)
By the time my screen went out the first time, I was no longer working near that location, so it was a 45 min commute back to Cellectronix, so it was inconvenient but Andrew fixed it quickly for free, so it was fine. Defects happen. The second time it happened, I was slightly annoyed. The third time, I was livid and ready to ask for my money back. Each trip costs me two hours of PTO, gas, and time out of my day. At this point, Andrew went above and beyond to inspect the screen for defects before hand, and even threw in one of their cool screen protectors. He apologized profusely. He was so nice about it, I decided to give them one more shot. That was back in probably June. I think there was one extra visit in there to get my Face ID working but that was no biggie, just a sensor not plugged in right, I think.
Despite Andrew ensuring me this one was perfect, it went out again today. Same issue— non-responsive to touch, then green flashing lines, then a black screen. I went up there and got to meet Rob for the first time..... Who informed me that since my screen was scratched (so much for that cool $35 screen protector Andrew put on my phone two months ago, huh?) that he wouldn’t be covering it under warranty, but would “be nice” and only charge me $90 for parts. (Excuse me? If the original almost $300 part put in my phone worked in the first place, I wouldn’t have to be up here wasting my PTO asking for a replacement?!)
I started to argue, but once again, only had the two hours I had taken off to get it fixed (I need my phone for work) and didn’t have time to go elsewhere. I was so frustrated I handed my phone over and started to cry right there in the waiting room!
I’m not sure if it was the fact that I was so upset that I was crying, or maybe he realized their was a screen protector on it, or that he realized asking me to pay for the replacement was bad customer service.... who knows, but Rob came out of the room and said “I’ll go ahead and eat the cost for this, I hope that saves some grace.”
Rob, if you were worried about saving grace, you shouldn’t have tried to charge me in the first place, knowing this was the fourth or fifth time I’ve been in your shop to have this issue fixed. It already cost me my PTO and my sanity to spend so much time in your shop, you’d think if your company screwed up THAT bad with a customer (like, 5 warranty replacements in less than 6 months bad) you would have already have decided to “eat the cost” when you decided to keep my original $300? If you were worried about being “out money” I would have GLADLY accepted a refund at any point so I could have taken it to a real repair shop and stopped using up PTO to make all these trips to Anoka.
I don’t normally take the time to write bad reviews, only good ones (and I previously gave this place 5 stars based on Andrews CS skills) but I’m beyond frustrated at the poor quality replacement and would have used my cracked iPhone until Sprint could have squeezed me in if I had known how awful this experience was going to be. I spent years working in tech support and with Asurion and now I understand why they warn you not to take your device to a third party for repair.
At this point, I’ve decided I’ll “eat the cost” and buy a new phone when this screen inevitably goes out just so I don’t have to see the inside of this gross shop again. It’s apparent from the reviews they’re good at some things, but iPhone screen...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic experience with Avery at Cellectronix when I brought in my damaged phone for repair. After a previous repair job by another local shop that left my phone with a damaged face ID and a broken earphone speaker, I felt hopeless and frustrated. To make matters worse, the other company refused to take responsibility and even made me pay more to fix their mistake before they would hand me back the phone - it was a nightmare!
But then I found Cellectronix, and I was blown away by their exceptional service. The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, and Avery, the local tech who assisted me, was truly amazing. He asked me if I had tried repairing the phone myself, which I hadn't, and immediately identified that the previous repair job was a mess and was surprised another shop would do such shoddy work.
What's more, Avery told me on the phone to come down and said he was willing to fix my phone for free if he couldn't repair it. This was surprising as the other stores I had called to ask if they could help me out said I would have to pay extra for any damage caused by their technicians, which I thought was odd. With 2 shops stating I had to send the phone back to the original phone manufacturer. Avery also explained that it's not normal for customers to pay for any damage caused by a technician.
Avery didn't just fix the earpiece and send me on my way - he went above and beyond to ensure that everything was working perfectly before giving me back my phone. Avery was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and personable throughout the entire process, and he even stayed after closing to help me with a few things and make sure that I was completely satisfied with the repair.
I honestly can't recommend Avery highly enough - he truly is the best in the business when it comes to phone repairs. His accountability, commitment to quality work and genuine care is unmatched. I will definitely be spreading the word to anyone I know who needs phone repairs. Thank you, Avery! Now I only hope they start a camera repair business sometime in the...
Read moreDo you think there is a reason this drug addict changed his name? I THINK SO! After scamming hundreds of people he changed his name to try and dodge the bad reviews. Just look at the ripoff reports on him and the old Google reviews he HID. Lovely feature by the way.
Here is my report. Andrew is a con artist, not a phone artist AUTHOR: Jay E - () SUBMITTED: Thursday, May 09, 2013
I brought my Samsung S3 to Andrew, the "owner" of the company to get my phone fixed for a broken screen. When I got it back there were dead spots on the screen and it never worked. I called to get my phone fixed because he has a "warranty" he gave me the run around. I went to another repair store and when they opened it up it was a NIGHTMARE inside. They asked me if I tried to fix it myself.
When I said No, Cellect Repair did it. More than 1 person in the office got a chuckle out of that. They said they've received plenty of work from Cellect Repairs mishaps. I can say I am not shocked. I tried numerous times to call Andrew to fix my phone but he never picked up. So I called from a blocked phone and he picked up and when I said it was me he put me on hold and never came back. I waited for 30 minutes. Called back and he never answered.
On top of that, there was empty beer bottles and literally a dozen pill bottles on his desk and the kid couldn't stop moving his legs. In hindsight, I guess that should have been the first red flag. All i can say is beware of this shady individual.
Apparently I'm not the only one. Hopefully this will bring the rest of the people he scammed out to voice their...
