I’ve had such a negative experience here. The lack of communication all around is horrid. I dropped my computer off somewhere around mid November with a part being ordered that typically takes 2-4 days. I hadn’t heard anything for 2 weeks called back and they said they part was delayed they were not sure why it would take that long. They will order one on prime for two day shipping. Okay cool.
We are into December now I try to call and call no one answers. Go up there on a weekend, the person working on it doesn’t work weekends, guy is unsure what’s going on he’ll leave a note to have have him call on a weekday. Wednesday next week rolls around and still no call. Can’t get ahold of them. Go up there and he is sick the person calls him and gives and update that the part is in but he’s been out as soon as he comes back he will work on it. Okay great.
Got a call from the person working on my computer mid December saying they opened it up and what they anticipated to be the problem was not in fact the problem and they need a new part. He gave me the option to close it up and don’t charge or to wait for the new part and they would call. I opted for the new part because what is the point of a computer that doesn’t work.
I give it a few more weeks to get through Christmas and the new years.
I call yesterday, January 3rd and the person working on my computer said the computer has been done since right after Christmas I apologize no one has called you, I’ve been out. I’m annoyed, but it’s not the end of the world.
I come in today January 4th and I pick up the computer. I wait for awhile, and let the person know that I brought my mouse and keyboard as well not knowing if it would be needed.
He comes back and says he tried to call the person working on my computer, tried to call the owner, they moved things around in the back and he cannot locate either the mouse or the keyboard. This poor kid got the full range of my emotions, with this being the cherry on top of the cake. He said he could discount the service, and hopefully they would call on Monday. Work starts back on Monday, and was really hoping to have my computer, MOUSE, AND KEYBOARD by then.
So this review is not even about the service itself because I don’t know if it’ll even work I haven’t plugged it in. It’s all about lack of communication and...
Read moreWorst experience ever! Brought my phone in because the top left of the screen was blacked out and the left side of the screen had a green line in it. I was told I needed a new OLED. After picking up my phone, the technician informed me that my True Depth Camera will no longer work as well as my FACE ID. He said Apple would have to "Marry" the part to the phone for these functions to work. I was extremely upset. Nevertheless, I left the store with at least a partially working phone. I immediately contacted the "Genius Store Apple Store" in West County Mall and informed them of what the technician at Phone Geeks told me. Apple reassured me that wasn't the case and the technician performed the installation incorrectly. They advised the original proximity sensor and ear piece would need to move from the old OLED to the new one for this to work, or else the technician had cut a wrong ribbon. A few days later, the OLED failed again and I went back up to Phone Geeks, I explained the situation and asked that they just replace my screen with my original and I would take it elsewhere to be properly fixed so I could have Face ID and True Depth Camera. The technician informed me that he had so many screens that he was unable to determine which one was mine. But, he could fix the screen that he put in since it was under their 1 year warranty. I informed him of what Apple told me and that the install was bad and he needed to reach out to the Apple Store to confirm what I was told. Well, they replaced my screen under their warranty but I still have a broken camera and non-working Face ID due to their faulty install. I asked for a refund and was denied. Horrible experience, will never take any of my phone there again. 3rd Party Screens will work as long as you do the install correct! If you don't believe me call Apple or do a simple search on Reddit that...
Read moreThis is a very small business with generally one maybe two employees working at the same time. They have to multitask with waiting on customers, answering the phone and trying to work on phones. I had sent an email along with trying to initiate a chat, and there was no response for either. I was referred to Phone Geeks by my phone carrier when my phone screen cracked. Unfortunately they didn't have my screen in stock and it had to be ordered. I called after 5 days and they told me in came in but they got kinda busy. I went the following day and was told they were working on it and it should be ready in about an hour. 4 hours later I went back since I hadn't heard from them, and they told me the phone was almost done because it got kinda busy. I finally get the phone and while putting a new screen protector on, the screen cracked when I was trying to smooth the screen. I took the phone back the following Monday and was told the one year warranty does not cover damage, and they couldn't send the screen back to the company. So they had to order another screen. They weren't going to charge me for labor, but I still had to pay for another screen. I believe the screen was defective in some way for it to crack that easily, but to start over with a different phone repair shop would cost me more. I believe the employees do the best they can under the circumstances but based on my overall experience I wouldn't recommend this place at all.
In response to the owner, the issue is not with the bubbles in the screen protector, but with the screen that I purchased and was installed from...
