This Office Max is wack. Unfortunately it's the closest one to my house and I come by often to use their print center. I mostly do self-service BUT there are usually a few employees in the store that sit on the other side completely ignoring the print center even though that's the busiest section during the day time. Their machines are always running out of paper, jamming, low on ink and you have to walk all the way to the other side to get an employee to help and they usually make a big deal about how they can't help because it's "self-service"....helping with jams and low ink is basic maintenance and EVERY time I am in there I see this play out for at least one person. There are a lot of seniors that come in that need help understanding how to use the machines and I've often helped other customers because the employees are somewhere else. The employees often blow off questions from seniors and Spanish speakers or only help them halfway and then walk away while they are still confused. Their print desk is also randomly closed without notice so if you need desk help you may come in during hours and find out no one can help you. One night I came in to print and there were two employees loudly talking about what's happening in Gaza at the cashier counter while I was in the print center. I heard their entire offensive conversation while both printers were offline and then the last one jammed. No one came over to help. I had to walk all the way over to ask for help and then the employee implied that I had somehow jammed it and rudely asked to know what size paper I was trying to print. When I told him regular 8.5 x 11 he seemed annoyed.
There are a few nice employees here which is why the 2 stars, but get some freaking people to help customers in the print center or at least pay attention enough to see when someone is struggling. Also, this is Colorado - putting the printer instructions up in English AND Spanish is such a basic accommodation and I'm shocked that it hasn't been made yet. Read moreI called today to get a price for a computer ink cartridge. It was for a Canon printer. The girl who answered told me $47 for one black ink and $47 for color. So, $94 for both. She said they had no double pack for a special price. These were XL size. I asked her how many copies is that for? She glibly replied that canon doesn’t include the copy amount for there cartridges. I said “really”? They want us to pay $94 with no idea how many copies it prints, that doesn’t sound right. Then she tells me the how many milliliters of ink they hold. Like I’ll know how many copies that translates to. Then I said well, maybe you have another brand with similar milliliters of ink that also includes the number of copies…that could give me some idea. Her response…no, that won’t work bc…blah, blah, blah. So, I go to Amazon.com. Shocker…both cartridges in a bundle pack $61 (that includes 2 XL Black ink cartridges and 1 XL color cartridge. OR you can get a black ink cartridge for $19.99. If you ever want to know why stores go out of business this why. TERRIBLE customer service by people who won’t even TRY to find out information for a customer and ridiculously overpriced products. The reason you could POSSIBLY get by with overpricing your products IS IF you HAD excellent customer service but you don’t. I’m a teacher and I’m so tired of society expecting teachers to go above and beyond, to somehow perform miracles with students who don't come to school to learn yet no one else in the world seems to think they could give a bit more effort to just minimally helping a customer with an easy question and request for service. One item in need was a new office scanner/printer. I had recently purchased an HP from a different location that kept knocking offline. I came to this location with my complaint intending to return it. After explaining the problem they not only refunded me for the machine but also the extended warranty I purchased for it.
Kindly and professionally they proceeded to educate me on different types of office printers and the features available before recommending a replacement that they believed would meet my needs.
We have now had the scanner/printer in the office for about two months and LOVE it! We’ve had no problems with connection, it processes documents faster than three previous and hasn’t eaten up a ton of ink! The office staff is extremely happy again!
I will return to this location for assistance with future purchases and recommend supporting this business based my experience with their customer service, product knowledge and recommendation based on meeting consumer needs without padding their sales. Fair business. Great...
