While I have shopped many Habitat for Humanity ReStore's and loved all the treasures I have found, this review is directed to the deconstruction and donation department specifically. I am an Interior Designer and I was looking for a reliable and affordable option for a kitchen deconstruct for my client. My points of contact, Michelle and Colin could not have been friendlier and responsive. All my questions were answered in a timely manner and a date was added to the calendar for my project. The team arrived on time, worked together, handled the cabinets, granite, remaining walls and floors with precision and care. Further, they were all happy to help! They left my clients home cleaner than when they arrived. One of the best parts was the cabinets were taken to H4H to be resold. I highly recommend the deconstruction and donation crew at Habitat for Humanity. I will continue to shop and reach out to Michelle and her team for future projects. You are all doing amazing, keep doing what you're doing!

Hours for Restore are 9 to 6 Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. Great prices, helpful people. They remember you if you go there more than once or twice. In some cases they will consider reasonable requests for price reduction for things that have been there a long time, or if you're buying in large quantities. To get to the main parking lot, go into the entrance west of the administration building at the Short McDowell traffic light and all the way through behind the administration building. Parking is east of the administration building, west of the Restore building. There is an overflow parking lot across the street but it is dirt/sand and has huge ruts. Pick up windows/doors/cabinets/appliances/bathroom fixtures at the west side of the building or for big trucks at the bays behind the building. Furniture is on the upper level (east end of building) and pick-up is at the truck bays in front of the building. There is a wheelchair/shopping cart ramp between the levels.

I’m not one to leave reviews but after the embarrassment I went through today, I couldn’t just shake this off or let it go. For the first time in my life, I was basically accused of marking down a price tag in front of everybody upon checking out. There was a small wooden bell looking figurine that was marked .50 and the cashier named Nancy (white older woman) said, ā€œsomehow I find that price hard to believe, I’m going to call my manager.ā€ Mind you, she calls the manager overhead for price check and there was already a long line as I was purchasing a lot of things. So a lot of people was hearing her disbelief. It was humiliating! Somehow I felt like if I was of different race, she wouldn’t have questioned if that item was really that price. The reason I say this is cause there was a white lady who was behind me who I had go ahead before me since she only had 1 item. Anyway, she was excited to get this one casserole dishware for $4. An ovenproof Pyrex dishware for $4 wasn’t questioned but a figurine for .50 cents is questionable?! Thankfully the manager backed me up and said that the price is most likely accurate as ā€œsomeone was sick and so there’s a newbie that was doing the pricing.ā€ Needless to say, they really need to do better with who they accept to work for them because they don’t need racist individuals pulling their image down. Or figure out a way to train them to not falsely accuse individuals of stealing in front of everybody. If they suspect that, they need to review the cameras first to save themselves embarrassment when they realize that I’m an honest person.

I’m a little sad that this happened cause I was excited to shop at this thrift store cause I knew for sure the proceeds go to a great cause and I’ve always loved thrift shopping. I’ve never been accused of anything in my life so I’m a little scarred and now the memory I have of my vacation to Asheville is being humiliated in front of everyone for a figurine! I should have just thrown that lady $100 for that stupid thing now to make a point but then what’s the point of thrift shopping after all right? Okay...
