Amazing service and instruction! Here's how a business runs when staffed by folks who just love what they do. I'll try to be brief. Wife signs up our 10 year old for their free kids guitar class. (Thanks Aunt Mindy for the Christmas gift!) Wife signed him up. Details in her email. She's not feeling 100%. Not to fear. Super dad to the rescue, let's go. We get there (only 5 minutes late) and I say lesson they point that-a-way and off to lessons we go. Got the boy, he has the axe, we're good to go. Lesson desk mixup, don't see Elliott on the list, the guy stops what he's doing, moves some stuff around and says "c'mon back I'll take him." I noticed then that the guy was beaming. Here's why. He saw my boy, brand new case in hand, saw a chance to start him off right and COULDN'T PASS IT UP. It was all over his face. He takes Elliott to the lesson space. Another staff member and i then realized super dad (me) should've said CLASS not LESSON. Another fella goes back to straighten things out and collect my son but then returned to tell me since they'd already started he'll just give him the private lesson on the house. Are u kidding me!? Here's the kicker, no kicker! After the fact they gave Elliott some picks to practice and that's it. I had my shields up for some kind of pushy lessons commitment and instead we got free picks and a "keep rockin' Elliott!" In the car on our way home my big E couldn't stop talking about how COOL that lesson was and how NICE the man who taught him was. Now I can't wait to go online and get my son signed up for some more lessons at this Guitar Center!!! You've made loyal customers out of us. Now I see why Aunt Mindy in Atlanta got Elliott's Christmas present from the Guitar Center there! Lol. Keep up the great work! Thanks for reading....
Read moreIs there a reason your “salesmen” act like used car salesman?
Example: I’m there trying out amps and guitars (More specifically the 7 string Sterling Majesty, Fender Mustang Combo, and White Boss Katana combo). Some guy I can only assume is a “salesman” asks if I need help. I say assume and use quotes because he had no name tag or identification stating he worked there. I say no and continue about my business. Every once in a while I notice him staring me down out of the corner of my eye. My 12 year old daughter even noticed and asked me about it after the fact.
20 minutes later I’m looking around at the other combo amps, planning on plugging into the Yamaha THR10. He asks again if I need help. I say no thanks. He continues pressing on stating maybe he can help find what I’m looking for. I say again no, I just want to check out some amps and guitars. Again, he persists and I finally tell him I just want to check out some amps and be left alone. He responds by telling me he doesn’t make commission, etc. He then turns around and mumbles something under his breath. This latest exchange was within the span of 15 seconds.
Between that and the unprofessional announcement from another associate over the intercom regarding closing, “We closing in 30 minutes, get your purchases up here in a hurry, show me whatchu got”, this visit was a dumpster fire. I fully intended on walking out with that 7 string Majesty and most likely that THR had I not been harassed and just left to myself. Not now. I’ll order from Sweetwater instead from now on. Worst case, I’ll drive to GC Knoxville, JC, or Greenville before dealing with this store ever again. The fact that I’ll be able to check out gear without being harassed...

There is only one store in Asheville this shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.
I never go to a guitar center and walk out empty handed NEVER. We(wife and I) went looking for a Gibson SG and a bass . I will say customer service is my pet peeve and f the store was busy this may have turned out different but it was slow. I was looking around the store not once was I asked if I needed help although I was looking and walking to the counter for help there were at least 4 people on staff . I asked about a product and was told nope not here. Was NOT asked if I would like to order it or have it shipped nothing. The worst customer service I have ever received from a guitar center . Again you lost A HUGE sale today even my wife was with me and on board for a purchase. Sorry guitar center you’ve lost a good spending customer ! Looking at reviews from other sites it seems this is nothing new at this location bad thing to be loosing customers in...
