Wall Street Market — Local services in Asheville

While it is extremely convenient to shop for me when I am working, and I was quite glad to see a place open up close to me instead of having to take a trip to the drug store on Patton Ave. They also have a very friendly staff and a great selection of items.

That being said they seem to change their prices at will and already price themselves well above the market value for most items. While I understand that convenience comes at a cost I also work in a business industry and know that credit card usage fees are nowhere near the .50 fee they apparently charge to use the most used type of currency in America and most of the world these days. Post Covid very few people carry cash, and it seems this establishment is out to profit not just on the products but also the use of a credit/debit card.

I had already accepted the fee and was paying there when I needed to for my fix as they advertise on their page, but today the price suddenly went from $7.96, that I literally paid yesterday and every other visit to this establishment with my card, to$8.46 today. I did not buy the cigarettes and I have decided that I will just forgo the use of this...

I like the store. However it’s toooooo many homeless & drug addicts out front I really don’t feel comfortable/safe at all. They watch you coming in & out of the store. Some of them will follow you to wherever you going & ask/beg for money. I will say that they have a new black gentleman that just started & he helps me to feel safe to come in there. It seems to me that the other staff members don’t care that the homeless is around. I think it’s bad for business tbh. I see tourists look at the store but are kinda afraid to enter.
