Based on the other reviews, I don't feel this review needs much justification. My husband and I chose MW in GB for our groomsmen outfits because they were the only carrier in the Fox Valley that had our style/color and the product was OK- ...A little over priced, but it was ok. But the customer service? Terrible. Encounter #1:
1.) My husband first went to MW in GB with one of his groomsmen to discuss outfits (nine mos. before the wedding, after we had searched dozens of other options throughout NE Wisconsin) They talked with a sales guy, who belittled him for not having all of his groomsmen present for measurements (as mentioned, he only had one other groomsmen there- and the sales guy took his and my husband's measurements then). We explained to him: "We live 1.5 hours north of here. We will try to get our guys to get measured at a MW, but the other one in Wisconsin (my cousin) works 50+hrs/wk...another one lives in Missouri, and the last one in Panama (where there is NO Mens Warehouse.)" The sales associates we spoke with over the phone about this were SO adamant about this- months after we had no luck getting our guys down there and they were so rude about it. FINALLY, after my husband told them we absolutely CAN'T get our guys measured in a MW, they accepted our measurements- only after further belittlement with comments such as: "Well if anything goes wrong, this is on you." (we didn't realize how true this was until a few months later). 2.) We arranged a pick up 2 days before the wedding. My husband and cousin (groomsmen) went in to get the 4 groomsmen outfits and my husband's suit. After waiting for about half an hour for them, my friend (one of my bridesmaids who was waiting with me) and I went in to see what was going on. We went to the back of the store where these same sales associates talking my with my husband and cousin. I could tell by their body language my husband and cousin were not happy, and based on the sales guys attitudes I could understand why. However, it went from tense to creepy when one the the sales guys started explaining something to my husband about something- while looking directly at my friend. It was extremely uncomfortable. My cousin got fitted then- the pants were just slightly too short. One of the sales guys said, "Oh, the measurements you sent were correct, but what the pants are actually an inch shorter than what you ordered. Sorry about that, we'll fix it." Then, over comes some other dude (honestly they all just blend together) and says, "Well, it doesn't matter because you called in the measurements so that's why it's wrong- regardless." (Oh ya.) So we got our order and were told that my cousin would have to come back (a 1.5 hour drive mind you) between then and the wedding (2 days which he was supposed to work DOUBLES- but they didn't care because it was "our fault") and get the adjusted pants. When we got in the car my husband and cousin explained to me that My cousin said when he walked in, the sales guy started making fun of him- saying, "Those pants are as tight as my ex". Creepy. They said it was extremely uncomfortable the entire time. 3.) When we got home (Northern Door County 1.5 hours north) and gave everyone their suit, we realized that one of our groomsmens suits was left completely out of our order. Unable to get someone (the groomsmen was working 50+hrs) to drive 1.5 hours ONE WAY the day of or before our wedding, my sister called her boyfriend, who drove half way to Sturgeon Bay to meet the sales guy. It was a "nice gesture" to "meet us half way" on this. However, after all they put us through, and really NOTHING being our fault except that we couldn't physically pull everyone to a Mens Warehouse to get their special measurements (though we sent all groomsmen measuring guides and extremely accurate measurements), they really should have driven the extra mile. Though I didn't...
Read moreThis place is terrible and we would have cancelled and gone somewhere else after our first experience with them if there was another company that worked nationwide (we had two groomsmen a few hours away and one several states away). Our first trip to the store left a bit to be desired. The guy that “helped” us didn’t really know a lot about what he was doing and couldn’t answer some of our questions. He showed us one suit which looked fine and then asked about our colors. He showed us one purple vest and said that was pretty much our only option so we went with that. After we left, I realized that he had never shown us any ties so I checked our account on the website and found out the tie that went with that vest was striped. We did not want striped ties so we had to make another appointment. The next guy was a lot more helpful than the first one. We ended up changing the vest so we could get a matching tie that wasn’t striped. Then, a couple weeks before our wedding we still hadn’t heard from them so we called asking when the suits would be in. They said they wouldn’t be in until the week of the wedding and that they would call us. We never got a call. They apparently called 2 of the groomsmen but nobody else. We only found out the suit was in (the Thursday before our wedding) because one of the groomsman told us they had called him. We went in to try on the suit and make sure everything was ok. Of course there was a clip missing on the pants. My husband only told them about it so he wouldn’t get charged for it but they insisted on ordering a replacement pair. We asked if we could keep the broken pair just in case the replacements didn’t come in time but they wouldn’t let us. So now on the Thursday before our wedding, we were left wondering if the groom was going to have pants. The replacements did end up coming in on Friday so at least that went right. A couple of our groomsmen also had issues with their tuxes that had to be fixed as well. On our wedding day, my husband had an issue with his shirt that kept coming untucked from his pants because it was too short. He kept his jacket on most of the night to hide it. Then, when we thought we were finally done with this place, our groomsman who was dropping off my husband’s suit called while he was there saying the store was trying to tell him there should be 2 pairs of pants in the bag. Seriously? It took them a bit but they eventually figured out that we didn’t have 2 pairs of pants and let it go. I am so glad to be done with that place and I hope we never have to deal...
Read moreAs a long-time customer of Men's Wearhouse, and having received superb service at locations around the country, I naturally opted to go to the Green Bay location as it is the closest to home for me. What I encountered was nothing short of deplorable and it ALMOST dissuaded me from shopping with Men's Wearhouse again, despite my many other positive experiences.
I had lost a good deal of weight and needed some alterations to a couple of suits to make them wearable - if not perfectly fitted. The tailor was very reluctant to even attempt this, despite my telling her that I understood it would not be up to their normal standard because of the extent of the modifications. When she finally agreed to do them, she wanted to charge me, stating that the pants and jackets had never been altered at Men's Wearhouse before (all my suits have been tailored by Men's Wearhouse and are thus eligible for free alterations for the life of the suit). Once we got past that, she took the necessary measurements and I was told I could pick them up in 2 weeks. As of the day they were due, I had not heard anything from the store, so I assumed they were ready and proceeded to drive down to get them (I live approximately 1 hour away). On the way down I received a call from the sales associate telling me that they were partially ready and citing all sorts of reasons why they weren't complete - and wouldn't be completed - all issues which could have and should have been disclosed at the time of drop-off so they could be remedied. What's worse is that not once did anyone seem to care that the customer service was so sub-par.
I'm currently awaiting some new suits from the Appleton location of MW and while I won't post a review on their site until I actually pick things up and complete the transaction, I must say that my experience with them thus far is night-and-day different than the experience I had in Green Bay. While it's further away from me, I currently intend to continue doing business in Appleton and if at all possible to forever avoid the Green Bay location.
So, I highly recommend Men's Wearhouse as a whole but the chain would be better off without the Green Bay store in...
