First time trying it today after great reviews. Some of the Best Service I've ever received - As I was walking in, the nice lady came out and held the door open for me as she welcomed me. For a sec I thought she was just heading out as I was walking in, until she greeted me and followed me back inside and asked if I needed help. I said it was my first time and she explained the menu and restaurant.
The nice lady at the register took my order, and asked if I needed a cup for water .. to which I said yes, and then she said it's OK if I had some soda as well. I was a bit surprised.. but I told her that I rarely drink soda. However, I did end up taking her up on the offer and sampled some iced tea and summertime lemonade - both were Excellent!!! .. like good stuff
My pulled pork sandwich (NC style) came out very fast, and it was very good - not dry at all, and being NC style came topped with coleslaw which also was very well done. Took a side of Maggie's Mac n cheese to go for my kiddo (edit: she liked it a lot!), which I've heard is pretty goo. Writing this review after finishing my lunch, cuz didn't wanna forget.
Sandwich didn't need any sauce, but I still tried the sauces on the table, and they were all good, and imparted good flavors and smells.
The nice lady at the door stopped by to ask about food et all, which I said was very good. a few mins later she came back and handed over a card for a free sandwich, cuz it was my first time there - Sweet gesture! .. even though I get that it's a way to get the first timer to visit again.
A little bit later, she went around all the tables handing out bite-sized samples of fudge brownie.
Overall, great good, great atmosphere, ...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped at Mission BBQ tonight on our way home from Door County and we enjoyed our food. We shared the 2 meat sampler and 4 sides. For meat, we got the pulled pork and the cheddar jalapeño sausage. Both meats were tender and juicy, which will make or break a barbecue joint. Bravo for that! Our sides were also enjoyable. We rated the mac and cheese 7/10 because the sauce wasn’t as thick as we would prefer. The baked beans had a smoky and slightly spicy sauce which we gave an 8/10. It could have been a tad sweeter in our opinion. The coleslaw was creamy, but not overly saucy which we gave 8/10. And the fries got a 6/10 because they were under salted and floppy. Very average. The only truly disappointing part of our meal was the corn bread. Corn bread is, besides the meat, the second best part of the meal for me. It was incredibly flat and extremely dry. I did not enjoy it and rate it 1/10.
Other than that, there were a plethora of sauces to choose from, and the prices were very reasonable. For all of our food we paid a little under $30. The service was also great. The employees were happy and kind, and the restaurant was clean. We...
Read moreI’ve been to this location several times and it’s definitely hit and miss as far as freshness goes, yesterday I ate here with my mother and daughter and ordered a full slab of ribs that were as old as the day is long, I was craving them and super hungry so I just bit the bullet (almost literally as hard as a bullet) and ate them, I like jerky so it wasn’t worth complaining about, the outer “bark” was seriously close to jerky but if you got to the middle of the rib it was definitely not up to par but did have some moisture and I do like their sauces so I used most of them to finish the meal, the cornbread was dryyyyyyyyy! So much so I took the “mop” and doused some on there to moisten it so I could eat it, my mother liked the coleslaw and her chicken, fries were typical and decent, but man that leather they call ribs I’ll definitely pass on next time if it’s like that. Overall it’s a decent place to eat, I’ll go back but definitely be careful about freshness there, those ribs HAD to be made the day before, it was later in the evening but c’mon mission you...
