I stumbled upon this store when I was looking for shoes for a wedding and was going to go to DSW or JC Penny in Green Bay, I looked up and saw this store and thought, never heard of it, I had time to stroll around and was immediately welcomed into the store by the staff, which is kind of like Moes, where you feel noticed and special that you came in! My first shopping trip there, I spend $160.00 on an assortment of items, 3 pairs of shoes, workout tanks, shorts, a few dresses and sports bras. IT WAS SO FUN! I was addicted right away to want to come back. I bought the VIP Lifetime Gray bag so I get 10% off each time I buy something (might be just full priced items though) and with the bag I get a little extra perk when I sell any clothes back.
I have been back several times (almost weekly) because you never know what is going to come in to buy and I really have gotten some new staple things for my wardrobe at 1 store! Like a pair of gently worn Nike's were $30 and I got a Kate Spade dress for $20, lucky me!
I sold some clothes back and the process is fair and good. They don't take everything back, they are selective with styles and brands as they should be, or they would have a mountain of items and as a buyer as well, we want the good stuff. I feel that people would need to be aware that some items are good for selling to a resale store, selling in a rummage sale, and lastly, just donating to St. Vincents DePaul.
I met and talked with the owner a few times and she is very proud of her store and the new KID TO KID store next door to it, I bet is going to be very successful as well!
I also like that I can buy for myself as mid 40 year old and my teenage sons too. The store has fun deals and their tags have colored stamps on them that equal certain % off. I also heard they have days like fill a bag of clothes for $25 or buy an item with a certain colored stamp and get 1 free etc. So, if you follow them on Facebook, you can see when those deals are.
This is my new favorite store in Green Bay, I no longer feel the need to "stroll" through Goodwill to thrift, I really like this store and the prices are GREAT! They are still a bargain for good brands! I have been telling family and friends and coworkers to...
Read moreBefore you go: This store is not for “all ages”. Know that this store is aimed at people who are under 30 (at most!). Before you decide to take in clothing to sell, you need to consider that IF you are older than, say..25? (perhaps even 20)..they will NOT take your items. (Because you are old.) This is obvious when you realize that the girls who decide WHAT THEY WILL BUY are barely even 20 years old, so THEY will choose what THEY would want. Never mind the rest of us! IF you wander around and look for something (nice) you realize that ALL the clothes are for young people (who are dressing down as much as possible.) This business is foolishly ignoring anyone older than 30…a huge group that has much MORE MONEY TO SPEND. Nice, stylish t-shirts? NO! Preferred are short-short slightly raggedy old Ts. Nice jeans ? No, just old rag-like baggys. LOTS of clothes in short, tiny sizes. I did not find one single item that was appropriate for me…a grown-up. (And I wear a regular, average size!) And, all the clothing could easily be given to Goodwill. It was no better than theirs. The clothing g I brought in to sell were (all!) lacking the correct “style” (they were nice) so all were rejected….mostly because those 20 year olds wouldn’t wear them. This business is ignoring a huge group of people like myself who shop, and CAN AND WILL spend money on nice looking, decent used clothing. This business plan, ( clothes for people with minimal...
Read moreI have to say, I was pretty excited that a new second hand store was coming to green bay. However, after this past weekend attempting to sell with your store, I'm pretty disappointed. I had my husband come in with a basket of our clothes and shoes. There was lululemon, buff bunny, nikes and jordans, some cute items from target and shein that were recently bought this past year. They told my husband they could only take 8 of the items (the lululemon items, a couple sweatshirts and two of the shoes) and could only offer $70 in cash but could do $80 some in store credit. Which isn't the worst, but when I can't even use the store credit to shop, or really know what they will have on the racks if I would even purchase. He decided to decline the offer, which thank goodness, because I then brought my basket over to Platos Closet and they were able to take 12 of my items and offered me $140 cash on the spot. It's sad to say that I won't be returning to sell my items to your store as I know that Platos Closet will...
