Very cool atmosphere, has the feel of the earlier restaurants based in Appleton. Not the same ownership though and unfortunately, in this case it really makes a difference. I ordered the curry dish and it was really bad. First the amount of curry was about four –five tablespoons. If anyone has had Japanese curry before, this is almost a joke. The rice also was so dry it was hard. The chicken was okay and so was the sushi but the main dish was kind of ruined by this. I don't normally like to complain but as I was eating it and the rice was so bad I decided to say something. I was not looking for a free meal by any means, but what happened after that was what really made things worse. The waiter asked if I wanted to talk to the manager, which I did. Rather then listening to me he wanted to argue with me about everything. The rice was that way because they didn't use enough water(yeah, I know, and it's not good. It was hard). The curry portions are the same everywhere. Well, I've ordered this dish twice in Appleton. It was not like that so I found that hard to believe. I didn't know then that they are owned differently, so everywhere just meant this location. But regardless if it was the same or not(who really cares) I just wanted him to hear that it was not a reasonable amount of curry for that dish. Raise the price if you have to, or cut back on the chicken or it's a cost thing but don't have a curry dish on your menu and then just put a splattering of curry in the middle of the plate and call that curry! And then the whole experience of the manager arguing with me and completely not listening to any of my concerns. He took $3.50 off the bill, about as laughable as the splattering of curry. I feel bad for the waiters there, I doubt they're entrusted with much to really solve problems. Then you're left with the manager who just wants to argue. I really don't ever want to come back here and I think it's a shame they have the same name as the businesses in Appleton who have head over heels quality and service.

This was our first stop at Nakashima of Japan in Green Bay. As hibachi goes, the food, showmanship, and service was unremarkable. I ordered prime rib and scallops. Both were overcooked. The fried rice was pretty blah, as was the broth. I have been to other hibachi where the soup served was miso, or the broth at least had some mushrooms, scallions, and perhaps a few fried onions. There were lots of families with young kids in a large space with maybe 8 tables, so if you are looking for a more intimate hibachi experience I think you would be disappointed. The waitress was slow with taking our order But then she brought the broth and salad at the same time. I would have enjoyed a pause between courses. The decor is pretty interesting. The bar area has an underwater theme, and the restaurant area has an area for sit down sushi, and of course a large hibachi enterprise. Ladies, you definitely need to check out the bathrooms! The toilets provide full bidet service, which was a surprise.

Have been at this location when it was called Nakashima and loved it. First time at it now that it’s called Mashima. Was really hoping it would be comparable, but definitely a bust. Rolls were super tiny with VERY disappointing flavor for price. Poorly rolled with lackluster presentation. Spent almost $100 for 4 people (1 adult, three kids)—8 rolls(2 special, 6 regular), 3 non-alcoholic beverages. We left deciding to order take out from a different sushi restaurant on the way home as we were all unsatisfied. Will not be coming back. Also my son said the men’s room was out of toilet paper and he had to have his brother bring him some. I mention this because it was definitely not busy. Unkempt parking lot. Obviously the same building as Nakashima’s was, so a beautiful atmosphere inside. Waitress was nice and cheery, just noted they do directly ask for good Google reviews that specifically mention their names.

We made the mistake of not going to the Appleton location on College. Our waiter was horrible, not personable or attentive. I dont expect waitstaff to blow sunshine up my a$$ but this guys vibe was way off. It was like he was doing us a favor. Every interaction was rushed but the interactions were few and far between and he was slow af so idk what the rush was. They werent busy. Every time he spoke I felt like I was being yelled at. He was slow and his timing sucked. Our rice came 2/3 rds of the way through our entrees and my second plate of sashimi came before dessert but after our entrees and i had ordered it with the refill of my husbands soda so pretty early on. We sat with dirty plates piled up in front of us waiting for our sherbert while I watched him walk to another table 3 times. Three times. It was laughable at that point. My son tried the wasabi that I was using for my sashimi which was amazing and the other woman at the table laughed as he got the hot hit from it and said "Dont worry, your sherbert will be here in 6 to 10 business days." Everyone laughed. Our waiter also wore gloves which was weird. I'm sure he wasn't washing those things like one does when they have bare hands or changing them. Between touching the hand held and other people touching the hand held and whatever. It was gross. Our chef was new and had zero showmanship which is whatever for me but I have 2 little boys so they're into that. Meanwhile the other chef sang and interacted with his guests. Our chef undercooked our veg, dropped chicken into our water carafe and onto the tabletop which was never replaced, and barely spoke. He then took the meat from the table placed it back on the grilled and offered it to my son. When he cleaned the grill he used this wad of a rag and sloppily sloshed the filthy thing around the grill top. I don't remember having ever seen anything but a neatly folded rag or grill block being used to clean so that was super unappetizing.

The place was dirty I could see a layer of fuzzy dust covering the decor hanging from the ceiling and stuff was slopped over the sides of the grill. They didn't have paper menus you had to use a QR code and read the menu from your phone which is awkward, annoying, over all just really dumb. The plastic frame that displayed the qr code was dirty. The place is dimly lit the other woman at our table didn't bring her readers and had trouble with this dumb a$$ digital menu too. I'm sure it's cost effective to have a digital menu but it's horrible for guests. Paying was also annoying, awkward and stupid. The waiter handed us his hand held and stood there waiting impatiently (which was strange cause he hadn't been in a hurry all frigging night) while we processed our own payments. This entire dining experience tool 2 hours. Skip the Green Bay location and go to Appleton. My sashimi however was delicious. My compliments to the sushi chef. Ninja decor. Squid and lighting was cool but the place needs a professional cleaning. Husband said the...

If it wasn't for our waiter in the bar area, while waiting for a table, and the delicious food, I probably would have given a 1 star rating.

We had a group of 8 that decided a hibachi style dinner would be fun and entertaining for our group. We expected a little wait, which was fine because we wanted to have a few cocktails in the bar area and visit with each other. Our waiter was great and very sociable with our group.

Once our table was ready, is when everything went downhill...besides the food. Our waiter in the dining area was the worst I have ever experienced. The only time we were asked if we needed drinks was when he first came out to our table to bring our plates and take our order. 2 in our group never received their drinks during the course of our meal, but were still charged for them. We all sat their throughout our entire meal with empty cocktails and water glasses. At one point we jokingly said, maybe he walked out and quit.

When the waiter came back at the end of our meal, he said I was helping in the back. At this point it was brought up that 2 of the people never received their drinks and the rest of us would like another, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "well, potato, patato" and he walked away. We all were confused, wondering if we were going to get another drink and whether he would still charge those who didnt receive their drinks. We all probably would have had a few drinks through our meal if he had come back to us.

So, when the bill comes, he charged those who didnt get their drinks, which I think he ended up taking off their bill because they mentioned that they still never got them. And of course he never brought any of the others another drink either. When he brought out the ice cream dessert at the end, everyone had a good amount except mine had half a spoonful, which I said, " I must have got the end of the ice cream carton" the waiter looked at me laughing and said " you're funny". I replied, "I wasnt joking!" I made sure to say loud enough for him to hear, " we would have been better off going up to the bar for our own drinks and service."

Everyone was disappointed with his service and our tip for him at the end of the meal reflected it..in fact a few mentioned that they didnt want to leave him anything for a tip, but they did.

Enough about him, the reason we chose this type of meal was for the entertainment of the chef...which we didnt get any from our chef. He didnt say a word to us the entire time. We sat there looking around at all the other chefs who were doing a great job of socializing and entertaining their customers. It definitely was not what we were hoping to get out of our dining experience. I will give him one thing though, the food was delicious...I will not discredit...
